Several of my favorite LPs as a teen. Wildflowers, Whales & Nightingales, Judith, Who Knows Where the Time Goes, Bread and Roses, and that absolute masterpiece of nuanced vocal storytelling from Leonard Cohen to Kurt Weill to The Beatles--""In My Life." Gorgeous. I listened to them almost every day. Her renditions of "Pirate Jenny" and "Marat/Sade" and the loveliest dreamiest version of "Suzanne" always delivered goosebumps.

We had graduation in 8th grade. There was a vote on the theme and the song we would use and I won with my choice “Both Sides Now”. I got a lot of support from my graduating peers but at first not the teachers. In the end, the teachers not only agreed with the choice but celebrated it. It was as it should have been. Thanks Judy for that and so much more.

I first saw and heard Judy around 1963 when I was 14 years-old. She and Tom Paxton I think it was, were making their rounds on Cape Cod, (and Massachusetts) at that time. They put on a nice little show at the old National Guard Armory, (which is now a court house) on Jones Road in Falmouth, Ma. Judy was absolutely fabulous that night! I can still see her on that little stage wearing a white dress and high heels. She had the most beautiful, big blue eyes I have ever witnessed. I've been a huge fan of hers all these years and my favorite song sung by her is, "Both Sides Now".

I just saw Judy Collins tor the first time live in concert. Blown away. Her voice still so pure, clear and inspiring. She played guitar and beautiful piano. She's so witty, yet humble. So immensely talented and great storyteller with her music and her connection to the audience.. 2 hour show with no breaks and never even drank some water. In Grand Junction, CO. She has family here it turns out. Avalon Theater, easy to get close great seats in a relatively small theater but it was packed. I feel so lucky.. I'm 70 and grew up with her music. The crowd sang along to Both Sides Now and Amazing Grace for the finale.
