My grandmother loved Judy Garland and this was her favorite song. This Halloween my daughter dressed up as Dorothy, if my Grandmother were still with us she would have loved it.

Sorry for your loss. Back in 2017, I had lost my first cat named Casey. He was 22 years old. Casey died at 1:06 Am on November 11th, 2017 while sleeping next to me. At least he is in Heaven along with one of your cats and I bet they are probably enjoying the fresh, clean air and even savoring the fresh fish that God has given them to eat.

when I was younger I would always watch the wizard of oz with my grandma this was her favorite movie and we use to always sing this song together 😟 I miss her so much but I know that she's in a better place now so whenever I listen to this it reminds me of her 😊💗
My grandma is on life support and is being taken off tomorrow morning, The wizard of oz was our movie, we would watch it over and over again every weekend for bed. It still is to this day my favorite movie and i will always remember her when i watch it or listen to this song.

When my grandmother was told she would only have a few more hours to live,the first thing she did was call me to her hospital room and then she began to sing this wonderful song and now everytime I listen to this I cry. I used to sing this and put this specific video on for my dog when she was sick. She got so sick in her last few years... and every time she was recovering from a seizure or just didn’t seem well... this was the song I sang while comforting her. She passed in 2016... and I still listen to it every time I miss her.

I use to sing this to my Grandmother when i was younger. Whether i was good or not, im not exactly sure, but she always made me feel like i had the most beautiful voice ever. She passed in February earlier of this year. She was a mother to me, a non judgmental, unconditional loving force for me to run to if i ever really needed it. I miss her so, so much. I can't listen to this song often because it makes me breakdown, but when i do, i think of her. And her warmth. Her laugh. Her smile. Her heart. How blessed i was to have her for 30 years. Dont read this if you dont want to, but I will write this anyway since I thought it would be appropriate to write here. My nan on my fathers side passed away on the 23rd October 2021 in hospital with my dad and uncle sitting by her as she passed, aged 84, 2 days before her 85th birthday. The day after she passed there was a big rainbow outside my bedroom window, the sky turned pink, it was magical. I didn't notice anything else until the day of her funeral just over a month later. We were driving up to her house and it looked like it was gonna rain, when we pulled up outside her house was a big rainbow and it was gone by the time the hearse pulled up with her coffin inside. We attended the funeral, she was to be cremated. We drove up to the crem following the hearse and walked her inside to the committal. The song that was playing over the speakers as we walked her in was this song. The song was still playing as the curtains closed. I write this on 26th December 2021 in bed, we have her ashes home for Christmas and she will be buried with my grandad within the week. My mom would always sing this to me to put me to sleep when I was little. I'm an adult now, and I sometimes have terrible insomnia due to anxiety. I recently lost my granddad. It was a battle with cancer that he'd been fighting for decades. The Wizard of Oz was his favorite movie and he introduced it to my mom, who introduced it to me. Last spring when I visited him, we sat in his livingroom and watched that movie. When Judy Garland started to sing this song, he said I reminded him of her, and that I was pretty. I miss him a lot and my family is having a hard time coping with his death. I miss you granddad. And I love you. This song will always remind me of you. ❤
This reminds me of Robin Williams. I dunno why. But when I think about it, it's like, think of all the suffering he went through mentally. All he must have wanted to just go far away to much more peaceful place. Like somewhere over the rainbow. Idk.

I wanted to commit suicide sitting on my bathroom floor listening to this song, that's how I always imagined/planned it. I'm 22 now, but I still don't want to be alive. The Bible says that Christ was crucified for our sins, buried and on the third day He rose from the dead. His death on the cross saved us from sin, death and the enemy. Weve been set free, redeemed and all who believe on His name shall be saved. God desires a relationship with you and that requires you talking with Him. Dont be afraid to call upon Him. He does not give us the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. I love Jesus Christ so much; He listens and He hears my prayers even when I dont do everthing right. Sometimes when we take our eyes off ourselves and our own problems and we focus on someone else, we begin to see life in a more meaningful way. Why not become a volunteer; some where out there is a little boy or a little girl or even an elderly person sitting in a nursing home in need of a friend. Or, maybe a puppy or a kitty in need of an owner. God can use all of us to share His love especially those who love Him. Please remind yourself how wonderful you really are. Those aren't just words; it's true. Someone, somewhere is waiting for you to be their friend..."somewhere over the rainbow" of life. Hugs and Smiles are waiting for you. 😀

I saw this movie with the young Judy Garland many years ago but i cannot stop flying everytime following the words and notes...power of an eternal song!
This song always kept my spirits up during my parents divorce. We moved in with my grandmother during this. I watched it everyday when i got home from school for i think 2 years straight. It's been my favorite movie since i was 5. Still takes me to a magical place. Always was my go to when singing all my babies to sleep.
