This song was recorded in stereo, but mixed down to mono for the film's release. Fortunately, these stereo tracks were saved and transferred to 1/4" tape in the 1950s.

Wow is there any instrument Mickey can't play? I've seen him play piano, drums and strings so far. Plus he acts, sings and dances. And he wasn't even an adult yet. Came here for Judy but it's hard to ignore Micky Rooney.

@@uraniumglass0he could play the piano but that wasn’t him playing on the soundtrack, he’s just trying his best to match his hand movements to the music.

Also, it’s funny how he’s hamming it up on the keys but all we hear is the MGM studio orchestra.

@@uraniumglass0 No worries. Actors can be taught to play musical instruments but it’s never usually them playing on the soundtrack. While Mickey Rooney was by all accounts a pretty decent piano player in real life, the actual pianist dubbing for him in his movies was a professional studio musician.

One wonders how Judys live would have been if Deanna stayed at Metro, and If Judy went to Universal? She undoubtedly had the talent, but, would Universal treat her like a person, and not feed her full of uppers. And turn her into an addict.

Joe Pasternak, the Universal producer who mentored Deanna, was a kindly family guy. He and his wife might well have served as substitute parents for Judy.
