Not many singers have stage presence that can hold a single shot during a song. Judy has an undefinable chemistry where you become transfixed like she is singing only to you! This even comes through while watching videos of her. The greatest entertainer, EVER!
Simply brilliant. Notice that there is no flashy camera work throughout the song. Just a single, unmoving shot, focusing on an exquisite performance. And how brave to leave the camera on Judy during the often-cut instrumental section in the middle of the song. Just about perfect.
She once said in a 1967 interview when asked why she does do this and she replied “because I was born to do it” Oh how right she was! I can’t imagine a world without Judy Garland’s talent! That voice! She is The Best ever!
WOW! I was totally transfixed on every moment and facial expression that she did during that amazing vocal rendition as only she can pull off. She was and still is in a Class By Herself!
My very favorite arrangement! I used to rush to my dorm room during the middle of the day and play the Carnegie Hall recording of this song. It gave me a much needed break and got me ready for the rest of the day. Love, love, love Judy. What a gift!

La plus grande de tous les temps, judy, chante sans doute l'une des plus belles chansons d'amour......avec une émotion incroyable, avec cette voix si unique, si chaude, si belle, si triste......la plus belle déclaration d'amour qui soit!
This is probably the best version ever of this song. How come only 3 comments. It's quite a call to say this is the best version. Debate over who wrote it. Fat's wall
the only better version of this song is another show with Judy Garland singing this same song...hard to believe, but even better than here!! someone had uploaded it a long time ago but it is gone.
Please, can somebody tell me what are the first words she sings, because there are applouds and I can't hear only the first words... I hardly tried to find the lyrics of the intro, but with no success... I want to make cover of exactly tis vertion of the song :) It wan't be that perfect, but at least I could try! I'll be glad if someone could help me,thanx :)))
Now that it's your birthday I don't know what to do Can't give you a thunderbird Or a penthouse with a view Can't even buy a little present I'm much too broke j find. But there is one way, I can save the day And i sure hope You don't mind I can't give you anything But love Baby THats the only thing I've plenty of Baby Dream awhile Scheme awhile You're sure to find Happiness And I guess All those things you've always pined for Gee I'd like to see you Looking swell Baby Diamond bracelets Woolworth's dozen sale Baby Till that lucky day You know darn well Baby I can't you Anything but love
By now, I hope you are singing it ✨🎤 She did an earlier version of that intro, and a wonderful version of the song, I think it was at the Palladium in 1951. I think it was a capella, and did not have the orchestra come in until after “I sure hope you don’t mind”. My dad was the recording engineer, I grew up hearing that tape. What a wonderful memory.
