All Hallows Eve, what a great song from Baptism Under Fire

Baptism of Fire is one of my all-time favorite albums. Juggernaut had an original sound & style all their own on that LP - killer progressive thrash. 🤘

I bought Baptism Under Fire in 88 and, as a young bassist, I was blown away by Scott Womack's bass parts... and what a sound he did have! On the inner sleeve photo he was wielding a Rickenbacker, so no surprise at all! 😄 Today, as a not so young bassist (☹️51), I still consider Scott one of the underrated great bass players of 80's HM, with Peter Crane of Sacred Rite and Flint Vujea of Cirith Ungol. All very good musicians, not well known but better than more famous bass players. And the album of course was full of good songs: Rains Of Death, Impaler and Purgatory's Child are my favorites. I have never learned them, but one of these days, maybe... 🤔 Greetings from Italy!

Same here. Scott and David Harbour had a huge impact on my style.

Dirty, intense, heavy. It feel like a Ton of Bricks of pure old school metal.

Great to see be able to see these songs played live! Scott is a beast just like then. Interesting take on Steve's vocal lines after listening to his vox on TW for 30ish years!

Not Steves vocal lines my friend. Vengeance was a song we played even before we signed with Metal Blade, and before Juggernaut was formed. You simply know the same song, recorded in 88, same title from the 2nd album, which was recorded after I had left the band, late in '87. We, Juggernaut, first recorded Vengeance in 85 on what would have been our 1st LP with IRON WORKS Records. VENGEANCE, was written or penned by James Satchel (the Reverend) and I, when I was fronting a local SA band Tempest in '84). Vengeance was not included with our first metal blade LP, Baptism Under Fire, as we ran out of time (a budget via Metal Blade for 3 days studio time) to lay down that track, thus it was later included on the second lp that was recorded summer of 88 (after I had left the band). The songs we played at KIT19, and what a great event to see and meet people who wrote to us in the 80s, were from our original Metal Blade demo, Metal Massacre #7, and first Metal Blade LP, Baptism Under Fire (all lyrics and vocals by myself as the bands original frontman/vocalist). Thus the video of KIT19, we played all our songs (none from the Steve era, 1988, btw he was a dear friend, always admired how beautifully he sang as opposed to us screamers). So, your comment to "take on Steve's vocal lines" is not accurate as they were not his lyrics or vocals. As youre a fan, surely youve got a copy of his Liquid Sky recording from 82? Recorded in SA Texas, Steves' Cry for the King is just beautiful, he was a true singer where as the best I can accomplish are screams and growling:) Thank you for your comments via our KIT19 one time reunion show.

@@harlanglenn9569 I didn't mean to imply that he was the originator just that I had only been hearing the TW versions since I was a kid so it's a different take compared to what I know. No, I have never heard the Liquid Sky material. I would have been six when it came out. I simply grew up listening to my dad's BUF and TW albums and still listen to them fairly often. Great background info though!

@@dthdancer If such a Steve fan via his voice you should look for a copy of Liquid Sky, Ive seen it at local SA used record shops, Eisenhower flea market etc. Cry For The King was a song from that which Joe Anthony played often on his SA show.

@@harlanglenn9569 I'll be on the lookout for a copy. Most of the record/tape/etc shops that I used to find early and mid 80's bands at are unfortunately long gone in my area. If I can ever get out that way I'll definitely have to look those shops up. I'm glad they still exist in some places! I miss discovering new bands from physical media.

Was that really the ashes of his father? What happenes after the show? Someone sweeps the stage and daddies ashes go to the trashcan after the show? I hope he does it at every show and takes ashes from the hotel fireplace or something. I mean, I know, what they give you is never the real ashes, but a mix, but still this is kind of strange as a show-element.

Those were some of the ashes of my Father, who supported the band in our early days, selling T shirts at our shows. He spent two tours in Germany, loved the people and the culture, thus on trips that I go on, across the globe I usually take a little bit of Dad to spread in places that he once loved and enjoyed exploring. You don't understand but thats as youre simply ignorant or trying to be funny and I honestly do not care what you think. My Dad and I were world travelers thus to take some of his remains back to be with us once again to "see" us play again, first time since 1987, was an emotional personal thing to do for myself and our family who knew how much my late father loved Germany and the Germans whom he once was stationed with after WWII and later in the late 80s. Ask a fairly ignorant question, yet get a sincere answer.

That's honestly some of the sloppiest guitar playing I've ever heard in my life. I can tell that he's really trying, but it's painful to listen to.

Sounded good to me and I've been a metal lead guitarist for 36 years. You must be one of those Millennial metal dudes who only likes overly-technical shred guitar solos with sweep arpeggios, 8 finger tapping and 32nd note runs.

@@GuitarWithDofka That was Bob's best performance and I have played with him, along side him since he was 15 and I 17 in many a garage band and attempts to break into the business. That night at KIT19 he was on fire! I can look at each song and just follow his energy, he truly played his best that evening in Germany!
