Cool describing of character, but there a thing that I'd like to mention: Instead of using lut over log, it would better to use Color Space Transform plugin, it does a better job, and we're not loosing information in that case, or just use ACES color space.
@theqazman
@theqazman 4 года назад
I would've if I thought those were better options here. If the shot needed more work I would've used CST. the whole point I kept making is do not over complicate this process and using all the methods suggested would've done just that.

Hi Qazi. I've been following you for a while and have noticed one thing that I never understand. Seeing as you did it here, I decided to ask: You punched in loads of contrast at the start. Very nice material. Good idea showing three different work paths as a colorist. In the movie look I think you forgot about the ball, which is a strong, colorful point that distracts attention from the character. BTW why do you always aim to set the same values in a denoiser? There is no logical justification. Idea for another tutorial - show work on a set of shots. This is what we manage to do in our work on a daily basis. Making any look on one shot is relatively easy, stairs start when you need to align many different ones, e.g. diffrent shot exposure. I would love to see how you work and deal with problems here. Regards, Colorist from Poland

Hello. I'm your subscriber. I'm enjoying the tutorial. But I have a question. Where do I get an example file for today's video or an example file for a 'Cinematic Look' lecture? Did you take this file yourself? Or do you buy and use raw and log files? And I want to follow your tutorials. but there are some parts of my film that are difficult to follow because of different conditions. In future tutorials, it would be nice to provide example files.

Hey Steve I did went back and corrected the qualifier and also that's not necessarily an issue when you are going to have a specular highlights that's just natural your skin is going to reflect the color of the light so you have to see it as a play back and not necessarily pausing it on the frame and look at it but when you watch it in motion everything looks fine.

Waqas, I'm a absolute noob on coloring, a noob on Resolve (Iam ex-Premiere) and a little less noobish on producing video, but I have my mind set on doing as much as possible myself for our small (shoe accessories) business. So, I do the all the design work myself with Photoshop, Illustrator, you name it. Make adds, package design, websites. It's to save money, but I also really like doing this stuff myself. I know I will make mistakes and cringe in a few years, but that's the price to pay ;-). This video helped me enormously to get up to speed with coloring. Especially the workflow with the nodes is a great framework. I'm looking forward to follow more of your vids. I have one small favor to ask. I assume the clip of the lady football player is rights protected and proprietary, but is it possible to share just a few seconds of the clip so I can follow your video and see if I can match your results (or better ;-) ).I guess even one frame will do.
