Hi. I love your bread ministry and have been milling my wheat into flour for almost a year now. I finally visited your store last Tuesday and loved it!!! I bought a kefir starter to put in juice but the starters were all clear that y’all sell but on your kefir juice video it was white. Are you creating a kefir starter by just using a half of a cup of homemade kefir made from kefir grains and just putting a half cup of that fermented kefir with grains removed ofcoarse into the juice to inoculate it? I hope so because I make my own kefir and that would be a lot easier. Your fridge was not cold (something was wrong with your fridge) so the starter was not cold and we had to drive close to 4 hours to get back home. I finally added the clear starter to some Welches grape juice around 10 pm last night and the jug did not expand when I checked it at 9 this morning. I don’t remember hearing how many hours it took to inoculate. Can you please answer the two questions for me? Thanks and God bless you and your wonderful ministry!😉❤️🙏
How can I get the starter? I'm in AZ. I have acid reflux. I am FORCED to take a PPI as all other treatments have failed. I want to try this asap. I have suffered and damaged my body from the meds long enough. Thank you so much. This is what I have been looking for..
There are many sites that show the process of fermenting juice. You may try @raincountry @marysnest @fermentationadventure @culturedfoodlife I make kombucha regularly but that requires a SCOBY which I had to purchase.
Been on PPI drugs for a long time. Only able to eat a few items. Hope this works as i have hiatal hernia, too. Where can you get pure juice with no preservatives and additives in todays world? Our stores only seem to have a few drops of juice the rest is proxy and food coloring! Thx much. Been on
The grains that we are able to ship can be used as a starter as well. You would add the grains to your favorite juice or milk, cover it with a coffee filter or cheesecloth and allow it to sit for about 12-24 hours. After it has fermented, refrigerate it. Then save and use about 1/4 cup of it for your next batch.
There are lots of folks fermenting fruit juices. I recommend @raincountry @culturedfoodlife @fermentationadventure @marysnest You might also consider making your own kombucha which you can do indefinitely after you purchase the starter and SCOBY.
@BreadBeckers is there a way that you could look into different types of shipping as the shipping for the kefir starter cost $31 you can easily ship it in a priority mailbox for $15 or less. When I went to order grains from you the shipping was 257 which was cost prohibitive. I ordered from a different place that offers free shipping when you spend over $50. they're a small farm, so if they can find shipping that's working. I know you can too. I have a feeling that you all are really going to grow a lot as your video's are going viral. if you could change your shipping to where it was prudent for people. I know you would sell a lot to people throughout the United States. I'm sure like me most people want to buy exactly what you're talking about. I don't want to buy from a different company. I want to buy from you :)
