This is one of the cruelest scenes I’ve seen in anime ever. Junpei was a good kid, just troubled but had a mother that loved him. He finally met someone he can call a friend…. Then the next time day comes and his mother had died due his other “friend” who then turned him into a monster and then he died. So messed up

I just realized that yuji now goes to the theater exactly because of junpei's influence. It's so sad that they never got the chance to go together.

Yuji is my favorite main anime character next to Tanjirou. The two boys are cinnamon rolls that need love and protection from this cruel world. They’re also not boring because they’re both interesting in their own right. I’m can firmly said that if Yuji ever meet Tanjirou the two would be best friends.

Junpei's death was so sad, man. I think he was written pretty well - most emo, depressed teenager type of characters are kinda annoying sometimes, and while Junpei is definitely troubled and calls people fools and shit like that, he was genuinely a good kid who was just going through a tough time. If he never met Mahito but still met Yuuji, bro probably would've had a pretty happy life.

The shortest bromance I've seen

This scene is so wholesome. I've been in that exact situation before, in both Yuji and Junpei positions. Making a brotherly bond like that really is that natural and fast. Gege wrote a beautiful and realistic scene and Mappa adapted it masterfully.
