@@shadowraiser47nah op was correct. This was elaborated on by Gege at the end of the chapter of Geto vs Toji. This is also further supported by how Geto needed to kill Yuta to take Rika as the upside of having Cursed as a pet is that they won't ever be a target for CSM while you are alive.

Toji doesn't have a grudge against Gojo lol.....He's just a normal assassin. He wouldn't care about Gojo if they were not willing to pay him good money to kill him.
As an anime only consumer of JJK. My favourite thing about toji is that he showed the heights Maki can reach with no cursed energy and I am excited to see that journey.
Big nerd moment, but if you go back, the first episode starts with adult Gojo falling asleep in the op, and the last scene, is just Gojo waking up, so everything was just Gojo reminiscing while sleeping, that's why under his eye is a fat bag cause he was crying
Another small detail I find hilarious is that after gojo got caught lacking by toji he decides to leave his infinity technique on all the time. And doing that would literally fry his brain but he just makes sure to use the reverse curses technique to continuously heal himself 💀
Imagine being Geto and Gojo and putting so much thought and effort into giving Riko the best time of her life before her big merger and even giving her the option to not go through with merging with Tengen and reassuring her that everything would be alright regardless of which path she chose. Then completely failing to protect her against Toji. That would cause anybody to break.
If you wanna know toji was bullied since he was a kid by the zenin clan, and got the scar on his lip from them forcing him to fight curses. He left and met megumi’s mom fell in love and all that but when she died, that’s when he started actin crazy.
For me the funniest part was after Toji shot Riko. He looks at Geto was was like “Good work. You can go home now.” Like Geto is just clocking out of some 9-5. 😅
Quick comment about there being a new “star plasma vessel” around 25:10. Basically she just told Geto “hey don’t worry turns out there was another person who could have assimilated to Tengen and Riko didn’t even need to die or be hunted in the first place bye.” Just another bit of instigation and rubbing salt into the wound

19:13 and on is spot on. Gojo being more “happy” and at ease than feral and psychotic makes so much more sense and perfectly lines up with the current showdown against Sukuna. Especially as he goes into battle when reuniting with the remaining clan, dude is happy to be the honored one.
The star plasma vessel might seem a little confusing for now because the more in depth explanation comes later. For now the audience only knows what the higher ups deemed necessary for the contracted bodyguards to know plus the little bit of out of context info Yuki Tsukumo dropped. Tengen Explanation: Basically tengen controls amost of the barriers in JJK, so she protects Jujutsu High and has a barrier around Japan. Tengen has an Immortality Cursed Teqninique but it doesnt keep her body from aging. So every 500 years tengen needs to merge with a new body. If Tengen doesnt merge it might effect their personality and make them more akin to a cursed spirt than human, meaning things like cursed spirit manipulation could potentially make Tengen weaponized.
Hmmm maybe Geto will use that last part to his advantage anyway they don't HAVE to use the vessel it will just mean they evolve which is more power and completely fine but also means that Tengen would be closer to the final evolution which would ruin their personality and take their free will away like Gojo said they can go the 2nd digimon evolution and it would be cool but the 3rd cannot happen
When they say that there was another person that could have taken the place of the girl they were sent to sacrifice (or something), that means she was entirely disposable when they witnessed the last moments of her life and have it be such a huge deal to the 4 of them. That's a gut punch
Apple bottoms are the pants with the flair 😵💫 I gotta keep reminding myself that people were born in the early 2000's . As for the clapping- they're this cult church that want Tengen to "awaken". They're clapping cause the Star Plasma Vessel is dead and can't go to Tengen anymore, which would "wake him up", which would start crazy shit. I'm talking crazy, like probably up to par with Gojo of today (not young), and this cult wants that to happen. Geto and Gojo are pissed at their clapping because they're celebrating her murder, and while they were originally gonna give her up to Tengen, they got close, so they're pissed. This cult is also against Jujutsu Tech Highschool, so pretty much celebrating the death of the Star Plasma Vessel, and actively mocking Geto and Gojo for failing in their mission. That scene, he didn't kill them right there and then, but it's what made Geto into a villain. If you watch Ep5 again during Geto's shower scene, you'll hear the sound of clapping before he calls them Monkeys.
As much as you like Mei Mei, I find her a little too one-note. Her focus on how much she's getting paid is pretty much her entire personality. She seems like there's more to her that Gege hasn't really gotten into.

Fun fact : Toji cannot see curses, since he has no cursed energy and no glasses like Maki. He cannot see any cursed spirits, not even on this body. All he can do is sense them with his heightened sense, it would be explained with the culling game. So Toji cannot see his body curse, the cursed geto was throwing at him and not even the imaginary cursed spirit. Also toji pulled that OP Gojo killer sword for that imaginary spirit as that tool can cut through any Cursed spirit. Also that other star plasma vessel thing is a lie
The sword he used to stab Gojo with when he broke through his barrier can negate any curse energy whatsoever. If you notice he used the same sword to break out of that domain expansion . 🔥🔥🔥 Toji didn’t come to play 😮💨🔥

I think someone else might have explained this in the comments already, but just in case no one has yet or if their explanations are unclear, you said you didn't fully get the clapping scene. What happened there is basically, first, in the previous scenes of that episode we see Toji handing Riko's body to the head of the cult (the guy who's the boss of the guy who commissioned Toji to kill Riko) so Toji could get paid for the hit, so that means Riko's body is in the cult HQ. This means that the reason Gojo and Geto are holding her body in that clap scene is because the two of them went to the cult HQ to get her corpse back. Obviously the place being the cult HQ, is full of cultists. The people around them clapping? Those are members of the cult, celebrating their successful murder of the star plasma vessel. Their cult believes that Tengen-sama shouldn't merge and should remain pristine and pure, even if that means he destroys the world or something, because they worship the guy. Killing Riko means the merge doesn't happen, which means Tengen-sama's pristine-ness is preserved and he's 100% Tengen-sama, not 50% Tengen 50% Riko or whatever. Anyways that's why that crushes Geto's psyche so hard. It's not really the moment he absorbs the inventory worm that he goes crazy, it's that scene at the cult HQ, surrounded by the masses, the masses he was explaining to Gojo in the previous episodes that they, as jujutsu sorcerers, have a duty to protect, those same masses suck. They're so evil and even dumb that they would celebrate the assassination of a 16 year old girl, and they can't even control their cursed energy which keeps causing the sorcerers more problems since they're the ones who have to keep dealing with the non-sorcerer's mess. What they get in exchange for that is more cursed spirits and shit they have to deal with, more vomit and shit-tasting crap he has to swallow both figuratively and literally, and whereas before he had the reasoning that the people are merely ignorant and weak and they, the strong and capable jujutsu sorcerers must protect them, in the face of Toji who was strong enough to almost kill them, and the star plasma cult who is anything but innocent, his reason to defend the masses just.. kinda' evaporated. He's defending non-sorcerers who literally roasts his most tragic failures with claps, people who will never even know of his service because everything jujutsu is censored and classified info at the time (and thus would be ungrateful to him), and even people like Toji (also a non-sorcerer) who will pay back his efforts and services by literally trying to kill him. Non-sorcerers just didn't feel worth protecting to him anymore, on the contrary they even went from weak and innocent, to evil and dangerous, and with Yuki's explanation, he even has a reason to kill all of them, so he does, or at least he tried to.
They build up Toji as this monster combatant who claps all these guys with ease. And then, we see that the Gojo of today is actual lightyears ahead of even him. Crazy way to show just how freakishly terrifying Gojo is.
Season 2 is so well taken care of that I'm like.. drunk on my high expectations for the Shibuya Incident arc. It's going to be amazing and the fact that King Gnu is coming back for the next opening song has me so excited. AND apparently the Shibuya Incident arc trailer comes out on the 24th so that's pretty fucking exciting.

On the upside it saves the world cause Tengen is still around to do barriers and stuff, on the downside, that means that all the shit they went throu with Riko a year ago was even more pointless.
