Julia Fleisher consistently displays impeccable technique and tone. However, what truly places her among the top concert violinists today is her passion and clear drive. You can see how her performances not only elevate her own playing but also inspire those around her.
I'll never get out of my head that Julia Fischer is able to perform the 2nd Piano concerto by Brahms before or after the break as well at the same concert. I draw this conclusion as I've heard her playing Grieg's piano concerto magnificently ! Full of Wonder - Wonderful !
Je me réjouis déjà d’avance pour le samedi 14 septembre, elle vient jouer ce concerto sous la direction de Cristian Mäcelaru au théâtre Ledoux dans le cadre du festival de Besançon… que du bonheur en perspective!
Thanks Fisher for the great performance.. Today evening I will attend Christian Tetzlaff 's Brahms violin concerto at Seoul Art Center. Thinking of you I will enjoy.
I haven't seen Cleveland play in a long while, and noticed that Frank hasn't seemed to age-- then I was watching him play and realized that oboe playing is basically face yoga!
I remember a video of her years ago and not being very impressed. She was just alright, nothing special. She has come a long way! This concerto is one of my favorites ... and she has played it beautifully... BRAVO! I must mention her backbends...never saw that before!!! Ok ... do whatever you need to do to play as well as you have here. Yes, you have come along very nicely indeed, very impressive.
I was most impressed with her Tchaikovsky violin concerto. Since then, I found her other works boring. But this performance proved me wrong. Her techniques and emotion make me love every moment of this concerto.
She is much more comfortable in this music collaborating with Vladimir Jurowski. Warmer, so to speak. It is FWM who, as usual, drains the warmth out of the piece.
