Julia Gets Wise with Isabel Allende | Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus 

I could have listened to Julia and Isabel talk for hours and hours more. This episode is my favorite so far. I already know it will stay with me and that I'll think about it all week. Isabel's honesty is so comforting, and the way Julia showed her vulnerability, I was blown away. This series is beyond amazing. And now I'm gonna make all the women in my life listen to it.

I had never heard of Isabel Allende but thank goodness I listened anyway. Wow, she is so insightful, mindful and interesting. I loved every minute!

Julia, thank you for this interview. Years ago I dragged my husband to Harvard Square to see and hear Isabel give a talk and promote one of her books. She even gave me her fax number to write to her but I don't think I ever did. I've enjoyed her writing for years. One of my favorites is Aphrodite!! That was the most delightful book. Also the Stories of Eva Luna. Isabel is a master storyteller.

This interview with Isabelle Allende was one of the best interviews I've ever heard. She is a wonderful person and so real! You brought the conversation around to terrific subjects too, I loved the conversation about death. I cried at the comparison between the death of Paola and the birth of her grandchild... it was so beautiful! Thank you so much for this interview! ❤

Just finished listening to this episode. Came into it not knowing who Isabel Allende was, came out of it as one of her fans. Happily reading The House of the Spirits during my break. Isabel has such a calming vibe but she kept me hooked with every story she told and advice she gave. Also, JLD has such a great way of conversing with her guests and working through the podcast that by the end of it you as the audience would laugh, cry, and laugh again and just leave with such a light, joyful feeling in your heart. Especially by ending each episode by talking to her mom and showing this great, healthy relationship they have, just so cute!

Great podcast!, I am Chilean and I have followed Isabel Allende since I was fourteen... she is the feminist that I will listen seriously because we share our unique Chilean macho culture; She inspired me to feel comfortable with my opinions, to work hard for what I want in my life and she did and share what I did not have the guts to do ... always when I read her books she makes me laugh in Chilean!!
