Hello everybody, I felt so sorry for the bad translation in this interview, so I decided to give my best and translate everything Julia was saying. I hope this translation will be useful (Bare in mind that my native language is Lithuanian, Russian is my first foreign language and English is second): Translation:- Hello, hello. Hello!- I am happy that I am finaly in Portugal, finaly at Eurovision because before I came here I felt really stressul and now I am more relaxed. I feel more energized, I have more positive energy and this is cool. I cant wait until the day of performance will come and I will have oportunity to share this energy with others.- Well, you know since I am very small I feel very comfortable siting there and other thinks that its the right decision because otherwise I would be lost in this big stage. - In any case we are not ashamed of my wheelchair. A lot of people are saying that we are here to make people sorry for me and because we don't want people to think that way - we decided to cover my wheelchair. Ofcourse a lot of people already know about my wheelchair, but we don't want others to say that then people will see me in wheelchair they will feel sorry for me, so because of that we covered my wheelchair a little bit. - In my performance we are trying to show that all people are part of the nature, we are all united, that we are life, and that person will find the way to live as a flower finds its way to grow. - The most important thing is not forget that we are a part of nature, we are all united and only then we will feel stronger and everything will be okey. - Ofcourse because its very visible that I'm in a wheelchair I am showing people with different disabilities and illnesses that you don't need to sit at home, you don't need to be ashamed of it and you need to work with yourself, with your talents, you need to study, to love, to live. - And I want to say that I don't differenciate people...I don't differenciate people because of their disabilities...and because of other criterias....Because I am singing to all people. I had times then even males from military were coming up to me and saying that they are thankful, that I'm showing to them that everything is posible, and if I can live and be happy so do they. I had times then people from military with tears in their eyes were telling me that I'm saved their lives. - Thank you so much. Thank you. I love you

she always has such horrible translators. as a russian speaking person, I can say that she loses half of the meaning and those youknowyouknowyouknow in the end finish me

Julia's expression and semi-eye roll and smile EVERY TIME the interpreter said "you know" -- it's almost like she was thinking "I could have done a better job getting my point across without you"

I don't want to hear "you know"ever again.I can't even count how many times i heared it.I am sure Julia told many great things which lost its true meaning because of the translator

I don’t get why you all are hating her, she is only a human like all of us, she is a singer just like your fave Saara, Netta and others. She is positive, she likes to sing, she performs for Russia. She said in russian that many people says that she is singing because of voting, people will see the wheelchair and will vote for Russia, thats why they made the stone that she is in the air, and i think that it is bad, she cannot sing like she is used to because of YOU people, PLEASE GET THAT SHE IS ONLY JUST A HUMAN, DON’T HATE BECAUSE HATING MAKES YOU A HORRIBLE PERSON, love from Latvia, wish you all the best Юлия!

Вы посмотрите прошлые интервью с Юлией, у этого же интервьюера, на этом же канале. О каком переводчике тут идет речь? В прошлом интервью переводчиком был проходящий мимо парень, который либо соображает на английском, либо является начинающим переводчиком, которого попросили помочь перевести( он сам об этом написал в комментариях), так же и в этот раз. Поэтому не удивительно, если эта 'переводчица' была скорее мимо проходящей, которая хоть как-то смогла донести смысл. Они даже такого переводчика- 'you know' не смогли ей предоставить. О чем можно вообще говорить?

This was a cute interview you know, I really don’t like her performance to be honest, but you know she is trying her best. However, you know, Eurovision is a contest where vocals are the most important element, you know, juries may not respond to her and you know they may not vote for her. So, you know, if she wants to qualify, you know, she needs to push herself more, you know.

And for people who are not fluent in Russian: this woman said, 'During your crime' instead of 'During your performance' and it shows the level of her professionalism very well. She can't even speak Russian correctly and make her speech clean.

And now just compare this interpretor, you know, to the one from Ukraine. You know, person who doesn't know the translation of the collocation 'role model', who always repeats the same annoying phrase... It is, you know, awful. They create the image of dumb Russia where no one knows English and even the interpretors are terrible, you know.

I didn't notice the the 'you knows' until I read these comments. In my work I sometimes need to speak to Russians through translators and this one was okay compared with some in my experience. Some good answers came through, even if it took a while.

Радуюсь, что я сама знаю русский и вроде как знаю английский и могу сама, без этого переводчика понимать, о чём она говорит. Просто не могу слушать этого переводчика.
