I was born in 1964 in Marion, Indiana and I used to watch this show. I went to a school in the country. I had a Julia lunch box with her and Cory on the front and a thermos inside. My mother was born in 1928 and has always been republican and sent me to s hood with this lunchbox. People can learn a lot from talking to each other. I have never known a racist republican!
@Marko Antonio exactly you said a word full right there ...and then there were a lot of TV networks that wouldn't even air the show wouldn't even touch it not a hair or episode .sad how blacks folks caught climps of hell getting on TV through networks. Such as Good times and The Jefferson. Sanford and son ..I remember Redd foxx saying that if he couldn't get folks like Esther ..bubba... Leroy...skillet ... Julio on the show he wasn't going to do it because they were his friends ...and he had big fallen outs with the writers and producers of the show ...look at Eric Monte he was actually the creator of Good times but they didn't give him the credit he deserves
@@thepromiseman7745 ln those days our biggest fear was the White backlash. These days our biggest problem is the Blacklash...we are seemingly against each other.
GOD BLESS DIAHAAN CARROLL NOW IN HEAVEN ABOVE,,, AMEN!!! AND CAN YOU KINDLY POST THE ENTIRE EPISODE PLEASE?!! I WOULD LOVE ❤😘 TO SEE THIS ENTIRELY!!! SINCERE THANKS...
Ground breaking show for the times (1968) Dianne was beautiful and fashionable. I also loved her answer to her tv son about race. Great Scene. Rest in peace 🙏
I was a kid when this show came out and I loved it. Our entire family would watch it together. Thankfully, we lived in Evanston, Illinois during those years and our neighborhood was a melting pot of beautiful colors. As a kid, I had no idea how groundbreaking this show was at the time. I just really liked Corey and how cute he was. Rest in peace beautiful Diahann.
I'm not just talking about entertainers but even everyday people, who had this very strong presence and gave so much while they was on earth, through their passions, their talents, that purpose. I never really followed Diahann Carrol career closely, but i remember over the years, seeing her on TV and movies. I never really knew that much about her show Julia. I know she recently passed, cause i read on the net about her passing. It's interesting cause, when i heard of her passing, I mention it to a friend, that happens to be older. He was telling me about, how he use to watch this amazing show, called, Julia, When he was the same age as the character on the show, Cory. (The little boy that played Diahann son on show) Plus his mom was a nurse to. It's interesting cause this show was way before i was born, I'm 40 now. I been watching episodes of Julia on here. Its like a celebration of Diahann Carroll legacy. It shows when we truly live our godly purpose on earth, we truly leave something special when we go, making others happy. I can see that Diahann was truly special, and her presence is strong. I'm sure so many people are watching all her movies and her tv shows, interviews. Just like when Micheal Jackson died, everyone had that desire to listen to his music again, even more. RIP
Happy Journeys Diahnne. You were great. As a kid this was one of my favorite shows and I was too young to appreciate the racial groundbreaking that was happening.
Simpler times. It wasn’t real life and maybe an inaccurate portrayal of how black & white existed back in the day, but if nothing else it was good clean entertainment when people had class, looks, and civility. RIP Ms. Carroll! You were one of the most glamorous women in Hollywood!
Well, color me white! I was thinking the tree salesman was Dr. Ken Jeong, but I knew he wasn't around back then, but the guy looked so familiar, and I could tell it wasn't Jeong's voice. Sounded like Don Ho! Must be Don Ho! I knew Don Ho appeared on I Dream of Jeannie and Brady Bunch around this time, but never knew him to have such comic timing like this guy. Is it Don Ho? Finally had to look the episode up. Jack Soo! Of Barney Miller fame! I just couldn't place him, with his being younger and attired differently.
