Damn i miss going to Chicago clubs back in the 80s 90s to see Julian jumping Perez and Farley jackmaster funk. They was r celebrity Djs the warehouse and the underground was the spots back n the day people from Chicago know the club spots iam talking about good times👍🏽

I have so many of these mixes on cassette. When I knew they were starting to jam I would go inside and turn on my recorder and then go back outside and listen to it on the boombox with my crew. But I am so grateful to hear this music now with better quality than perhaps my cassettes from the 80's. A big part of the soundtrack from my youth. Nice post, and that Dominatrix jam, oh my god, got me like a 1-2 punch.

Another flashback into time with great 80s music. But I really wish people would stop referencing everything Julian Jumpin Perez or. WBMX played as House music. There are only two possible House tracks played, Hanson & Davis and Fresh. Other than those 2, they're mainly italo-disco, electro, and funk. Anyways, thanks for posting.

Most of this mix it's Italo Disco before house music. Records where made in Italy. Trance dance, funky family, pineaples, love and music, doctor's cat, capricorn - need love. etc... Are italian records they all have the same italian stamp on the original record.

I couldn't agree more. I would've Loved to have seen how Italo Disco wouldv'e evolved had it not been the introduction of House Music. At the same time the way Julian & especially Mickey mixed Italo made it so accessible & exciting than Italo mixes coming out of Italy!

i'm gonna be honest here, chicago dj's mixed their tracks with good segues. ny dj's are great for sure but i heard their early mixes and they would play anything with not good segues and mis beats, on the radio. but no way am i knocking ny, you can't. ny brought all the music first. julian rocked this mix. it sounds like probably summer 1985. for some reason i stayed in a lot. my cousins had a red iroc. wow haven't heard ride the white horse for a long time.

Perfect blends are a MUST in Chicago. It's the Chicago way of mixing, that's why there are so many good DJ's that come from Chicago because many grew up with WBMX mixes. Even non-DJ's know how to mix here in Chi. I will say some NYC/NJ DJ's are perfect blend mixers. Jellybean is good, Tony Humphries

You have to remember also that early dance music was recorded live, and therefore not even beats, and not digital. Digital music was all computer generated and nice even beats. With digital you can let two records play overtop each other for minutes. You can't do that with early dance(disco). Tom Moulton went into the studio to remix First Choice-Doctor Love and the music(recorded live) was so irregular, he ended up having a heart attack. For real. Google it.

There is no other song between 12 and 14 as far as I can tell. It's another verse from "No Favors" and segues into "Happy Station", which is the scratch version. You can hear the synth from "No Favors" underneath the scratching in "Happy Station".

One of the Fun Fun voice is Ivana Spagna(or Spagna) famous for his first solo dance hit "Easy lady" 1986;lent his voice to many Italo disco projects (see Hot Cold - Love is like a game, 1985)after a couple of years of hit dancing in his name, his career changes direction, devoting himself to the traditional Italian melodic genre

Most of this Is Italo Disco, some Freestyle , not House Just because people call it House back then does not mean it's correct. They have the correct term use then in the 80's

Yeah BTB Crew started in Little Village. The Little Village set is Chapter 1(Headquarters) I'm a B2B from the Pilsen set. Chapter 2 is Pilsen. I started writing in 1988. So I'm oldskool and bomb here and there when I get the urge to paint. The Bee Tee Bee Crew had it going on in the 80s 90s and early 2000s
