Ms. Fowlis never ceases to thrill me. She's priceless cultural treasure all on her own, but all the musicians are great.

Absolutely brilliant from 5 of the finest Scottish and Irish musicians alive. Love you Julie and your family and band. And how is that the simplest, least complicated little tunes are the MOST beautiful? Simple. They were written by people who LOVED other people and wanted to make them HAPPY. People like US!! Xx

Ancient Celtic composers, who wrote many of the melodies, would surely sit up in their final resting places, shake the dust from their heads and in joyful wonder and amazement listen to what Julie Fowlis brings to their tunes.

The first tune is a reel, composed by Tom Doorley - he recorded it with "Danu", and gave it the title "Are You Ready Yet ?". It is the very first tune played on the band's CD "Think Before You Think", which I recommend.

Thanks for the comment! The reel sounded super-familiar the second he started playing, and the next 30 seconds of trying to remember the tune name or where I heard it were a torture until I saw your comment :)
