A make up artist behind the scenes brought out a shade of Foundation which was darker than Rachel's actual skin tone and when she and Amanda Clapham who played Holly Cunningham asked the make up artist if she could have the correct shade of Foundation for her skin tone the make up artist said to Rachel that the shade of Foundation was all they had and that "you're all the same you lot", however when Rachel spoke out against the make up artist although she was supported by Amanda and by Charlie Clapham who played Freddie Roscoe, they were branded traitors by Lysette Anthony who plays Marnie Nightingale who said "well they both have that embittened traitor vibe going on" and Rachel called Lysette 'actual trash' in response.

@@tomtomtomtomtomtom4288 From your explanation, the make up artist should explain her comments. I cannot see what she couldn't have mixed various shades to come up with the correct shade. It sounds like the make up artist was getting annoyed at what she thought were actresses with bad attitudes. The "you're all the same you lot" could be racist, but maybe not. It depends on whether she was referring to the whole cast, or just the Black people. Of course it appears that Rachel and her supporters were being ganged up on by those supporting the management. Rachel seems to have had a reasonable point, as the comments from the make up artist were wrong, in my view. Lysette seemed to have been putting petrol on the flames.

I think Rachel's accusations are justified and that she obviously wanted an explanation from the bosses at Hollyoaks, and for the make up artist to be fired for what she percieved as racism but it's a shame that she may have left as a result of what happened especially as her character Lisa Loveday has now been killed off by her own cousin Toby Faroe at Mitchell and Scott's wedding and that possibly she (Rachel) asked for Lisa to be killed off as a result of what happened so that didn't have to experience racism on the show again. I'm also guessing that Lysette didn't mean to cause offense with her comments but later realised her comments unintentionally caused offence which is why Lysette quit Twitter soon after.

@@tomtomtomtomtomtom4288 I agree. The very least the make up artist could do is explain her comments. If it was me, I would have said immediately to Rachel that I didn't mean it in that way, and of course say sorry. There is far too much racism around anyway. I have no idea what Lysette was on about. She should know better, and if she is racist, she should keep it to herself. Hollyoaks tries to cover various issues with sex, religion and racism, which is brave. The way Rachel has been treated appears racist to me. So often the real big racists are the bosses, not the small fish, like the makeup artist.
