Even if I've finished my tracking, when you upload recap vids, I grab my budget binder, all of my stationary and watch it on my TV. I do it subconsciously but I think it's because I see this as a "girl's time" thing and I compare my weeks with you both. I am EXTRA pleased because I just got home, opened my binder to start tracking and saw this notification. It's like having two friends virtually walk me through it, Im so grateful ya'll do this and I learn something new each time
I just added 'emotional spending' to two transactions. So good to be aware of where you're at and also a reminder of what was happening for you when you look back at the past month.
Closing your budget helps to see your overall picture for the month, how you can do better next month and see your wins for savings and pushing down debt. It's so satisfying, rewarding and motivating!
Thanks to both of you. You guys really inspired me my how to budget and how to close at the end of the month. Also I did some side hustle for the past few months. Also I am able to reduce my expenses and choose to have healthy living and able to save more than 50% of my income from january upto this month!! Thank you!
Yeeess! I was binge watching all morning and popped on here again to look for an old video i may not have seen just to see you JUST uploaded😍 Miko thank you so much for what you do! You continue to inspire me and make me feel as though the dreams I have are achievable!
Great wrap-up video as always. This month my internet and electric bills both increased, and I know that if I wasn't tracking month-to-month, I just would have wondered why my balance is lower. You really care when you're aware!
I have followed Dave Ramsey for years. I tried for so long just couldn't do it. I found your channel and budget mom has been a game changer. Finally something that works. 🙌
I’m new to this channel, ryen seems super sweet and as a student, I related to her more. It’s great that you are bringing ppl who are at different points in their financial journeys .
I'm so glad you're back! This is my favorite channel! Anyone else working for the Census Bureau as an enumerater for extra money right now? That's what I'm doing to buy a new car! 🙋♀️🚗💵
I wish I could afford the week by week budget book. That's actually going to be one of my saving goals. Just starting our budget journey and you're helping me so much. Thank you.
I love that “life happened” but Ryen was able to compromise and worked within her means. Bought a couch, paid debt AND saved for a trip to see her mother! Literally no excuse. 💖
I love these videos! I finally heard the answer to a question I've had for a while: that when you use cash that you saved in sinking funds you count it as income for the month you used it in!
I just came across your video and I'm loving it... I always wanted to be able to track and budget my income. I love how you helped people get on a budget..I need to watch more I really wouldn't know where to start..Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you and Enjoy your Day
I've been waiting for this video! makes me so happy to see you two be real with your budgets. It is so helpful to see what category you track. BBP is the best thing to happen to my finances!!
Thank you ladies for sharing this important topic. Since allows you to create a spending plan for your money, it ensures that you will always have enough money for the things you need and the things that are to you. Following a or spending plan will also keep you out of debt or help you work your way out of debt if you are currently in debt.
I find it cool that you help your assistant with her budgeting. I am just starting to budget my money because my parents think I waste money without saving money for the future. I always start my Christmas shopping in the summer. I am the type of auntie that spoils my nephews and niece.
They were fun to watch... I keep my budget and my bookkeeping in my apps on my cell mostly.... I like their paper form way of keeping track of everything.... Their system gives me new thoughts an ideas.
Ryen, are you going to make a sinking fund for additional furniture now that you've gotten this new couch? I've been saving for a big furniture purchase (couch and loveseat or maybe sectional) but now I'm thinking maybe I should just buy little by little and enjoy each piece one by one...lol. Congrats on a great month!
This was great information for me. Eaxh time it helps me understand more on how this end report will benefit my budget each month. I really enjoy seeing the difference in your budgets and love how you each help and enjoy each others progress. I'm excited about my decease of my expenses each month and how l can see savings as l pay off bills. Thanks so much! Can't wait to order the up and coming paycheck manuals. Have a great one both of you.
Thanks for the amazing videos. Could you please do a video showing how you fill out your expense trackers? Are you using cash receipts? I'd love to see you doing it in a video
Hi, I love your channel. I am having a hard time following on the where did my money go worksheet, how you track when u put money into your sinking fund, then when u buy things that month like the bday gifts that fell into your sinking fund budget. I don't understand why you track putting the money into your savings account and then add it as additional income that month. Like if I put $500 into my sinking fund a month and I spend $300, I have already included the $500 as income from paychecks now it is like I am adding it again when I pull the money from the sinking fund to pay for the sinking fund expense. Thanks for your help in clarifying that for me.
Money saving should be approached as an optimisation strategy and work on the three biggest categories housing, food and travel. You dont always need a flashy car.👍
I am new to this channel and I am loving it! I have been budgeting monthly for a long time but not sticking to it....I’m working to understand this method (that I am so intrigued by). I have a question, so when the couch was purchased...where did that money come from? It’s a zero based budget and if every dollar has a plan, then where did that money come from? Thank you and I can’t wait to order your new workbook and start this!
Hi Miko, could you make a video on student loans? I just graduated this year and will need to start paying my loans in a couple months. All of the options are very confusing to me & I don’t want to be paying on the loans for a long time. I’ve already started saving money to put towards them but am not sure what is a good repayment plan to choose! Thanks so much, you are amazing ❤️
Great info on budgeting I’m still trying to get the hang of this I’m new to all of this so I’ll be just starting in September but will be better in October for me trying to downsize on my cable & car insurance so it will be cheaper in October And also I have a huge cell bill I need to catch up on so I’ll be trying to save to pay that off sooner than later as well starting out small and working my way up..
I love your videos and want to get a workbook. You are so helpful. I clicked on the link for a workbook and it is not there to order. Please help. Thanks
When I transfer partial payments from my income account to a separate savings account, do I cross out that transfer from my expense trackers? Also, I'm having trouble with the same concept with my cashless envelopes. I use a Google sheets tracker for my Misc. savings; do I cross out any transfers to the envelopes from my income account and only count when the money is spent? And am I realistically able to close out the month properly if I track only my expenses and just a "cash withdrawal" for my husband? He's on board but he shouldn't have to claim his small purchases.
Also... just thinking as I would love to master this... would it benefit me to just have one main tracker for all my misc charges even though they're in different accounts? That way I can see a clearer picture of the movement without having to confuse myself with a paper/ Google Sheets combo...
I've tried everything and still don't get any of my subscription notifications. I have unsubed and resubed and hit the bell for all notifications again and nothing changed. I do get responses to my comments. Any ideas?
With paying bills by paycheck is your month matching days of month or the paychecks used? Looks like it matching the month but just starting out... Example -paid on 8/30 but majority goes to early bills in sept since paid every 2 weeks.
She says that’s personal choice, whatever works for you. I do it based on the last paycheck of one month to the last paycheck of the next month. Sometimes that means the month ends on the 23rd or so.
You can do by pay check, or by month, and the month can be any date range you like. It might be worth you watching some earlier videos as she used to be fortnightly too. She did a monthly budget but would highlight which expenses each pay check covered.
I want to share with you! In month of July and August I paid 2 credit cards and other Payments that were behind such as as tolls and other debt. On my way to pay off 7k loan. I’m so happy to take action and coloring the lemon sheet. Btw I reach my goal on saving for emergency fund. Thank you so much for explaining in detail how to budgeting. When are your new PayBy check book will be available????
You are saving such a large percentage of your income, but haven't donated any of it after making this big deal in June about wanting to listen to the cause of others and give back. You were just doing it to appease your readers when all the influencers were pressured to put up a black square on their Instagram, but here in July and August, it's just business as usual as you save for a landscaping project for a house bigger than any of your readers could possibly afford and with your business collecting even more money from people worshipping you at your altar. People who come to the Internet for budgeting advice are struggling, many of us are dealing with the pandemic and its economic ramifications and with the anxiety of what's happening to the world. Your channel and brand is so tone deaf to all of it; what can I do to get your videos off my feed? I never subscribed but you keep popping up. I'm done...goodbye.
It’s impossible to know fully what others are doing. Instead focus on what you have the power to change, such as doing your own charitable donations and work xx
Emi- you must be under some incredible stress to have such an ugly attitude. If that’s the case, I hope you figure out your situation and get on a road of some kind of recovery. Control your own situation rather than blame others....it will do you and those around you some good.
I don’t post my numbers or share my life situation on the internet so I guess you’re free to assume what you want about me and my situation based on the little I wrote. I was making an observation and statement about my observation. If I never watch another video, Kumiko will be just fine and so will you all. Peace.
