I am getting a lot of questions about why I have only three red pawns and not four so I thought I would just post an answer here: My black cat, Nola, loves the game pieces and whenever she had access to them, she would take them and play. I was able to recover all but one. The final red was never found. We hold him in memory and honor his sacrifice.

🐝🐝🐝I am doing Jane Austen July next month so reading things related to Jane Austen. The main prompt is the group read which is Sense and Sensibility which I have a beautiful edition to read.
I have only read one Pam Jenoff as well and felt similarly. I have The Orphan's Tale and a couple of others I found at thriftstores, but I haven't picked up yet. I hope your reads go well.

For July 90% of the books I’m reading on ones I owe I’m only going to read 2 books that I’m buying for July the new Meg Shaffer book and the book that’s a retelling of mulan
I absolutely LOVED ACOSF!!!! Time’s Convert by Deborah Harkness is what I’m currently reading! It’s reread before I dive into my most anticipated read of the year, The Blackbird Oracle! I might read an Inuyasha manga VizBig or some One Piece manga volumes in between too.

I also decided to stop with my Stephanie Plum books as well. It made me a little sad but I also felt I was wasting my time when I have so many other potentially great books to read. I really enjoyed The Nature of Fragile things. Question: why do you only have 3 red paws?😂 I am not sure what I will be reading yet in July I think I might mood read after two back to back big readathons! 🐝
The fourth red pawn, sadly, is a fallen soldier. It was the victim of my cat Nola. He has been held somewhere as a POW and we do not expect his safe return.
