Summer break is here!!! Lots of birthdays, events, and activities to budget for. Trying to enjoy a little bit of fun while still paying towards debt and staying in budget. Watch our journey to see how we are paying off our consumer debt, one dollar at a time.

Your channel is my favorite budgeting channel. I am always impressed with how you keep your variable expenses in check! It is unrealistic to have no “fun spending,” especially if you have kids, but I also try to remember that my kids are learning money values from watching our family spending. We are working on learning how many meals we can eat at home for the price of one time going out to eat. Real world math and finance!
@BudgetWithMrsP

Thank you! It’s taken a long time to get our variable spending under control. Using cash made all the difference… and not allowing myself to cheat and use the debit card when I went over. Also, limiting my trip to the grocery store to once per week helps too. I’ve finally convinced myself it’s ok to run out of things and not immediately replace it. My daughter has finally started seeing the true cost of things now that I give her an allowance and make her use her own money to purchase things she wants. She will think though purchases a lot more carefully! Thank you for your support! I appreciate you!

The snowball should always equal all of the minimum payments that are paid off plus minimum payment of the current debt you are working on.

💜💜💜 you were speaking to my heart in this one my friend 😊. I also remember a time (many times lol ) when we were behind on bills or our checking account went negative because we forgot about yearly or quarterly bills. It truly is amazing to look back and see how much peace of mind budgeting can give you. Well done my friend 💜💜💜

Good evening Mrs P, another great video. I feel blessed that I am finally able to have money in a savings account cause I truly lived paycheck to paycheck all my life and I’m 54. Budgeting and planning it out has definitely been a game changer. Lol, hubby said hey what’s up with date night😂. I need to set up my budget as well. Have an awesome week❤😊
@BudgetWithMrsP

Yes! I can totally relate! Our “savings” used to be whatever was still in the bank before the payments came out for bills… which was literally nothing. I even remember a time where we wrote checks hoping they wouldn’t clear before payday came through. I am so glad I’m not living that life any more. Thank you for watching and being a great asset to this community 💗

can you do a mid-year check-in on your total debt and put projected payoff dates?

Thank you for sharing your printables. I dont see the Sinking Funds monthly plan that you used. The one in your files is not two columns as you have. Did you update it?
@BudgetWithMrsP
@BudgetWithMrsP 22 дня назад
The way I got it to be two columns is by selecting “print two pages on one” when I print it. Otherwise it’s two large pages.

Hello Mrs P! How do you determine how much you are going to allocate to savings challenges?
@BudgetWithMrsP
@BudgetWithMrsP 28 дней назад
I think about how much I need for each category, see what my budget can handle, and go from there. For example, my Monday Minis are sinking funds that I would have given a certain amount each month anyway... so I just divide that total number by the weeks in the month and that is what I use. If the budget allows more, I add more so that they can be funded more quickly. Hope this helps! My budget is still a work in progress!

@BudgetWithMrsP
@BudgetWithMrsP 28 дней назад
I have it as 4 I think, but when you go to print, you can select to print custom pages and just print as many as you need. If that doesn’t work, I can try to send you a PDF through email.

What was the trigger that made you decide to budget? Why did you decide to create a channel and share your journey? I really enjoy your channel. I appreciate the variety of content, but all pointing towards the same goal (budget sheets, menus, games). I know you got that one negative comment about funding vacation while eliminating debt, but you don’t owe anyone an explanation. When you have adult children or soon-to-leave-the-nest children, decisions are a little different. I appreciate your down to earth approach!
@BudgetWithMrsP

Hi there! Ahhh, the trigger that prompted our journey. 100% was Christmas of 2022. When we made good money but didn't have any extra money to buy our kids a Christmas gift. We had to take out "Affirm and Klarna," loans, etc to fund Christmas because all of our credit cards were maxed out and we had no disposable income left after bills were paid. With our income, we should have had money, but we didn't. I sat down and did a budget and was in shock at how we had so much credit card debt and we were spending way more than we were bringing in. We made drastic changes and committed to getting out of debt. As far as why I decided to create a channel and share my journey is mainly because of the inspiration I found from other people on RU-vid and the fact that it would help keep me accountable and help me share what I have learned. Thank you for your very sweet comment, it means so much!
