Sure, there's absolutely no substitute for in-person training, but these breakdowns continue to help my understanding. (And wow, there's SO MUCH packed into this one short clip!) Thank you so much for sharing
Ya, the idea of changing, shifting, letting him use his energy against himself. The DOUBLE JUM is one short and one long. Fantastic description. See how he effortlessly lets the opponent choose for him. 😌🙌💯
Just want to reiterate for folks reading the comments: *you* can train with Sifu Gary Lam at his school in Los Angeles - Sifu Gary Lam been training fighters practically his entire adult life, both Wing Chun and Muay Thai - he can teach you, too...! I've been there: His school is awesome. His Students are awesome. You don't have to just read the comments, you can learn to fight too...! Ok, sorry for yelling about it, I'm just hyped. Can't wait for the next video. Can't wait to be back at the school and train. Thanks again
Just a couple weeks ago - Saturday and Sunday, 10-7 and 10-8 - two fun days training and afterward a fun chat about 'One Piece' and 'Jujutsu Kaisen' with a great group of folks there
To me, i remeber JUM being taught with HUEN SAO and GAANG SAO, together to produce JA JEUNG. Resting hand. Points the way to center. ☑️ Cant wait to see the new one.
These hands seem like they would be effective if your opponent is punching you at points velow the neck. But what happens when someone punches to your head? How will these hands be effective if your hands have no power if they go above your shoulder?
If someone were to target your head, you would use a tan sau or a wu sau for defense. They will be effective because power will come from the shoulders and elbows.
that's why you train for thousands of hours until your opponent can attack high speed with power + disrespect your space, and without thinking, the concepts programmed deep into your biological CPU will instantly move your body in just the right way to control or subdue or maim your opponent.
@@enrsrey5Always a hater in the comments. It seems like they will run their mouths about Wing Chun or any other martial arts ( except MMA / BJJ ) Those styles are holy and without any faults whatsoever. 😒🙄 Instead of talking trash, how about you get down there to the studio and put your money where you're mouth is. Back up what you talk about & make fun of.
@@jacobharris954No cowards like that guy just know how to run their mouths online but not back it up. They won't go to Gary Lam's studio or anywhere else and spar to backup their words, instead they probably don't train @ all & if they do it's that butt grabbing BJJ or or something like that. Pure cowards in every sense of the word.
