Just wanted to say thanks for the video! Got to work this morning and digger was flat we a pancake... wasn't sure what to do. Took a minute and thought surely someone on RU-vid has had this situation, and surely enough here you are. Thanks again for getting me out of the shit. Awesome video
If your truck only has one battery you can charge one battery on the 24volt system for about 10 minutes then put the cables on the other battery and crank it up no need to do all the rewiring unless it has 2 bad batteries just keep truck running and don’t cross batteries or your in trouble
Thank you. Soooo with this excavator, the main cpu is bypassed and the throttle is ran by a cable, starter solenoid is activated by a push button, fuel solenoid is activated with a key switch. I had forgotten to turn on the fuel solenoid so it wasn't getting fuel. Gotta love old diesels that can still be _made_ to run even when the computer says no.
Basically, you need two good 12Vdc batteries and 2 sets of jumper cables. No truck necessary. Literally. Was hoping thus would save me a walk across the yard to fire up the old Cat scraper and jump it, but disconnecting all of the wiring is-im just lazy, there I said it.
I just found your channel and am in the process of going from a position in a pharmaceutical company that I hate to opening a small engine repair shop and possible welding and equipment repair(mobile). I am in PA and could use some pointers if you have the time or would care to chat sometime. I am in the northeast near phoenixville and I got the feeling you might have been in PA also. I want to start a place where I would pickup people's equipment and then drop it off when it was done because I would be using my father's farm. I was thinking f doing local pickups and drop offs for free. I bought a Ford Ranger but it needs some welding that I will do soon. I was in a horrific accident eight months ago where I was hit on my harley and had my right leg crushed and got extensive blood clots. I was not able to walk for seven months and just two months ago got to work but I hate the position and it is not paying the bills.Let me Know how I can get in touch. Thanks.
Yes, but your truck is wired to still be a 12v where the machine is 24v. You have to wire the truck batteries different and isolate them or you'll burn up your truck wiring.
