It was Abe who wrote me a few days ago to tell me that when he heard Django Reinhardt's playing for the first time he thought it was the most beautiful thing he had ever heard and how he made it a lifetime goal to strive for that very sound. So now, he can play a lot of notes, scales and arpeggios, but his playing still lacks that snap that would give that real Gypsy/Manouche sound.
