Been amazing to see Tom develop into one of the most relevant voices in blading. We’re lucky to have someone so talented and engaging dedicating his time/efforts to this space. Happy to support him.
@@Mattkea No, he's not. He's poked some light fun at cringe tricks a bit. He's just saying what everyone else is thinking. The only people that could call him a bully have impossibly thin skin.
Shout out Tom- his videos are never not funny, and there is some substance to them too. Personally I’d be freaked out if i had to always be worried about view counts and such, but more power to him. With respect to the conversation about skaters making more non-skate content, Broskow’s an interesting case. To be crass, he truly gives his skating to the public raw dog without a bag- he doesn’t do interviews and doesn’t really post non-skating stuff either, I don’t think. I think folks would be interested if he did, in the sense he’s a genius/black belt in this craft, and he’s been so good for 25 years😵💫. How does that work? How’s it worked so well for so long? Yes, his skating obviously speaks for itself, but having the personal backstory can add a lot. Cody Lampman’s Ashes section, for instance, took on a whole new level of meaning after hearing him talk about his life and getting sober. Ditto with a Jake Dotson section.
Well I absolutely loved that. Austin and Billy you couldn't have picked a better guessed. I'm a huge fan of Tom love his humour. Absolutely epic episode. I was one of the ones who was in the chat 😂 some fantastic ideas getting put about aswell. Thank you to the 3 of you for that episode.
@@TomMoyse when you come to the U.S. you got twins to escort you around!! I’m grateful you did this podcast so we could take a look inside the mind of Tom Moyse… Very entertaining.. Good show!
Damn, I’m only 45 minutes in and I’ve never actually LOL’d while watching a podcast.. This is pure entertainment and I’m glad you guys brought him on cuz yeah, he’s controversial but his sense of humor is awesome. Skating does need to be more critical and have standards and who better to do it?! I just would hate to be on the receiving end of it! Good shit guys!!!
i loved how you all went deep into imagining what it would be like to actually book a flight to the other side of the atlantic to "do someone in" 😆 that's comedy gold right there!! great episode guys ❤ you're funny as hell tom! keep 'em coming. thanks jsp for getting him on.
So good to hear all of this I’ve enjoyed his videos in the past!, but now have so much more respect for him, if you ever need help with tik tok my partner has almost 5mill followers and his 18 so he knows all the ins and outs keep smashing Tom!!👊♥️
I loved this interview, perhaps one of my favorites, it shows a critical and fun way of @Tomgmoyse . I really like his content and the different way he approaches the contents of Rollerblading . Congratulations to @JumpStreetPodcast
that was awesome podcast! you guys hold it down for the culture is great and on top of that you have been bouncing off ideas just like that this got me inspired to contribute in my way. ✌
I just want to know what you tube creator moyse was tslking about lying to him other than that super good episode have a lot more respect for the moyse content now love the dedication to growing the sport
I use Tom’s trick violations to teach newer bladers what to avoid. Mizuggen for example. Spot on. Giving voice to what needs to be said. The content is a gift to blading. Keep on keepin on.
I would love to have a broad conversation within the rollerblade community about creating sustainable business models for guys like Tom. I think we have the “need” and the “want to”, we just need to lay it out and plan it.
Best of blading media meets! Great to see you guys chatting. It reminds me of all the good times skating. Tom is a fantastic voice in rollerblading! Funny, honest, real.
Haha, that's it. It's all about how you want to frame it. I know my intentions and try my best to make them clear. If people take offence and throw hate at me, I just carry on doing my thing and focus on making the best videos I can. Time will show I was only ever being lighthearted.
I enjoy watching Tom... I never miss any videos, I don't think anyone is getting offended by the silly comments, I just find them funny... Alright?! 🤣🤣🤣
thing is: he always laughs about the same guys while worshipping others for ... their name? i dont know... because skill and stylewise one is clearly better. and its not the worshiped guy.
i honestly think there is never too much content about skating, and agree with you guys about content other than skate edits. Love watching Tom's videos, helps to keep up with the blading news or topics about it 🙌🏻 thank you for your massive work on the videos!
It came from some of Tom's jokes about older bladers crossing the line from ribbing into insults. That upset some people and the Montgomery Monsters IG account asking if Tom even skated since he almost never posts clips of himself.
Back in the early 90s in the hood there were a lot drama gang shit, Tony kept it positive by teaching young neighbors trouble kids how to grind and escape from block, everyone nowadays just a new kid n the block rollerblading is great but to leave Tony out of the conversation hmmm nobody talk about Tony where he at? 😢
Very nice episode, guys! There is something I want to see and no one has done it so far. I'd love to see a more detailed episode on home setups, with some comments from your side. I have seen random home DIY stuff and some of them are really impressive. I'm pretty sure if you work together with Tom Moyse the result will be awesome and probably many people will be inspired to make one in their yards.
about working for loco skates, it would be great to add more detailed descriptions to skates. weight, measurements, blablabla. specially nowadays that some people are really into those details. trick call outs were the best. if people get offended... sorry, we need more of that. don't roll your topsides and if you can't help it then laugh about it.
I'll be doing video stuff but regards the descriptions they've been adding more details such as weight etc. There is defo ways to give constructive criticism and have a little laugh at the same time
yea live streaming is rough sometimes. we've never had this particular issue before and still don't know what it was. its part of the game I guess. i see other streamers have problems too randomly no matter what software they're using
He is super angry that wheelscene “lied” “I never said the skates won’t sell” Next sentence “A major retailer didn’t even order them” So how is wheelscene lying? This guy who is “just being light hearted” is actually just taking himself way too seriously
Haha I’m not super angry, I’m just bored of the multiple lies Wheelscene has told, plus some other stuff behind the scenes i didn’t want to cover in the podcast. That was one example - he claimed I said the skates wouldn’t sell, which I didn’t - that's the lie. He then also said Bobi was playing the game well - It’s ironic he lied about what I said but over looked the fact one of the biggest online skate shops didn’t even order his skates. The lie was pointless. He tried to throw me under the bus, but if I would have said that it would have been fairly accurate haha. All the back and forth had otherwise always been in jest. It was the same video you wrote an article about.
@@TomMoyse honestly the beef with Dave is a bit sad, at the end of the day you both love rollerblading, you both produce great content and you are complementary. Initially I thought it was just trash talking between 2 friends, hope that you can sort it out for the love of the game
@@furykane There isn't a beef. The jokes in the vids have always been just jokes. I haven't spoken to Dave in over a year, I don't think it would be fair to go into private stuff. We are very different people, it's nothing deep.
I love Tom's videos, but as with all comedy and criticism, it's a fine line between critique/ribbing and insult and between opinion and gatekeeping. He's crossed those lines a few times and will cross them again, what's important is making sure he doesn't cross those lines and stay there. Mistakes aren't a big deal. Making controversial videos just to get views though will kill credibility and unfortunately the algorithm rewards that kind of content.
Did you address why Moise thinks doing "stunts" in skating is a sign of insecure masculinity? Which is an incredibly toxic, sexist and narrow minded reactionary take on people, whatever their gender, taking part in potentially fatal activities like big sketchy tricks in skating, riding, sailing, racing, climbing, fighting....and on and on. I stopped watching his videos after that. Psuedo-intellectual and plain wrong. Women have always taken part in the most dangerous activities. Look at the history of flying aircraft. He embarrassed himself with that long video essay
oh god shut up, he's wasn't wrong, it def played a big part in rollerblading. a lot of people have called that out, not just tom. and the way you phrase is misleading, there was plenty of context and history in that video to justify his opinion and address all your idiotic points.
the point that women have always been involved in stunts and the dangerous side of skating (and other sports) is a good one that we should all keep in mind, but its disingenuous to cry reverse sexism here. Everyone can remember when we used to call each other p*ssy and say to 'man up' when someone was taking too long to jump at a big trick. Obviously masculinity is culturally associated with having guts and doing dangerous stuff, so young men worried about their masculinity are likely to try to prove it in that way. Pointing out (and poking fun at) that cultural association is not sexist. Tom Moyse didn't invent that association, he's criticizing it.
@@billyoneill5424 what did my mother do though? See how low you get! A homosexual all goes tactic (I expected no better from your sorry ass!!! Lying, streaking, disrespecting, manipulating, what more are you capable off Billy boy ?) now I was mad and actually embarrassed for all I said in an extremely exaggerated way but, now after seeing this comment I think it was all worth it and now the whole world can enjoy the real you at least here for ever son!, Billy boy let’s not internet fight !,- I challenge you to a fighting match in a ring at any style you chose, if this is to manly for your pathetic self then we could do a blade game match (I don’t see you as a worthy opponent but it will do) don’t involve parents and I give you my word of honor I’ll spare you meaningless life.
