The Jumping Gorilla Mountain Trail Run - Series 2022 was held on the rugged and perfectly textured ranges of Sahyadri (forest trails). It is a mind baffling route, with multiple loops to explore. Each runner will experience barely palpable and harsh craggy landscapes and precipitous mountain ranges in the course of the race. The race will be conducted within the limits of Chaurjai, Kadjai and Taljai Hills.

I has participated in the 60 km category which had a cut-off of 14 hours. I was able to finish the run in 12 hr 31 min while vlogging all along. It was an amazing experience and I feel that the Jumping Gorilla Mountain Trail Run is the ONLY 100% trail run in India. The run is an all-in-all ridge run with no tree cover and therefore cramps and DNF's are quite common if the runner is not prepared.
My learnings from the run;
a) Hydration and electrolyte balance is key to finish this run within the cut-off period.
b) Since it is also a 100% ridge run it is crucial that you try and finish the east-facing slopes before 11 am to avoid running against the sun.
c) This is the run where you try and use all the aid-stations. I made sure that I finished all the food (dates, peanuts) and electrolyte (Snergy by @steadfastnutrition) before reaching the next aid-station.
d) Arm sleeves and a cap will be of great use in this run as you will be running on these ridges that are devoid of tree cover thus making the heat unbearable at time. I was lucky enough to get the arm sleeves on time. Thanks to @zulukgroup
f) Doing repeats is challenging but it is also fun as you keep seeing your friends running in the opposite direction and a quick high five definitely boosts the moral.
g) A good trail running bag would be extremely helpful because you will be needing quick access to water while running. I am thankful to Sachin for lending me his bag for this run.
