The production value of these videos is astounding. Having actually attempted a making a vacation video with some sort of linear storyline: FAIL. I have some tiny understanding of how difficult this is. Yet you two make it seem so easy! The results are always very enjoyable. It’s the combination of all of the elements; videography, drone footage, pacing, writing, fun banter, instruction with lessons large and small, beautiful boat and of course...England. You two are such naturals. Keep up the great work!
Wow! That comment sent a tingle up my back, thank you! I do put a lot of effort into the episodes so it's always really nice to receive positive feedback like yours. Thank you, Peter! 👍🏻
A little cabbage in there!!.😂😂 That's very funny. I loved that video. Thank you for all your videos. They really do cheer me up especially through sad times That's why I have not commented for a while. But still watching .. Take care .X 😇😀
2 years on and rediscovering as an Aussie with a couple of mates we voyaged along the canal from Preston to Tewitfield for a week in early September, 2011. We moored adjacent to that beautiful stone bridge on the start of the Glasson branch and being completely intimidated by the locks we walked along the towpath to Glasson on what could be described as a 'hot' day, around 25c. It WAS hot and a pint went down well at Glasson, but what a beautiful walk and the peaceful Glasson village at the end of that walk. Just coming out of COVID, I discovered your channel and found the episodes on the Lancaster canal and remembered that wonderful, incomparable holiday. Thanks for the professionally produced video's particularly of the Lancaster canal. Mike.
Me too. Stunning photography, NOT another trip down the Grand Union, beautifully put together, kept my attention AND a mini-adventure. Great music too. Thanks folks. Mrs Mouse, Smokie and I have added this to our to-do list.
Watching the series for the second time. The whole Lancaster series is wonderful, but this episode is just so beautiful! Despite the fact that you've moved on to other adventures and successful pursuits, what you accomplished with these videos is incredible. I don't think anyone could produce a more professional, warm, informative and inviting series of videos to promote and show off the beauty of England. You should have been paid handsomely by the Ministry of Tourism!
As always another great video. I love the blend of google earth, drone , and first person camera work, great music choices. I thoroughly enjoyed the history presentation in your last video. Keep up the great storytelling "well lubricated equipment...." lol. Benny hill music needed for weed removal clip. May the weather be fair , your travels be wide, and your boat be narrow!
Good morning boys and Dillon, great video content, superb editing and the drone shots are so nice, gives the viewer like us a new perspective, lovin' it all
What a beautiful episode. The camera work, the editing, the drone shots - glorious. Well done. And such a nice tip of the hat to Glasson. As well done as any travel productions I’ve seen anywhere.
I've just read through the first 50 or so comments, such great and very well deserved praise for you excellent vlog. There is nothing I can add apart from simply... thank you so much for sharing lads, I get lots of enjoyment from watching them 💕
Enjoying watching your history, I’m up to 54 now - gives me so much context about your current vlogs. LOVE the information and features about canal restoration; sends me in to an internet rabbit hole! Also want to say I think you’re both brave, putting your lives (including the tough times) on display. Love to Otis 🐶
As a born and bred Lancastrian and, many times visitor to Glasson, this was just a superb advertisement for anyone wanting to check out this part of my wonderful county. Thank you so much for this. I cannot express how much this meant to me in this time of lockdown misery .😉
The drone footage from Glasson Basin was absolutely stunning. You make beautiful videos. I thought you were very brave getting in the water to clean the bow thrusters, Colin! The outtakes were brilliant as always. I loved the huffy sigh and the “I was trying to do some filming!” So funny x you two are just wonderful x
you guys are so damn talented at videography. I am going through a canal boat phase, and i just cant get enough of your videos, they are just stunning.
Having spent the last 12 hour shift in a factory , it’s great to come home grab a beer and watch your vlog , always a pleasure to watch , many thanks , you lucky buggers , take care 👍
Oh my. Your cinematography gets better and better. That sunset drone footage and music - simply perfect. You chose an incredibly beautiful canal to begin your narrowboat is adventures. The rest of the network surely can’t compare?
Colin and Shaun, do you guys cook and eat on the boat? Of course you do... isn't that a part of boat life? A vid with some content inside Silver Fox, please. Perhaps on one of your rainy days?! Shaun I thought you were going to throw Colin in when you were holding his legs! That would have been so funny! Truly Colin, it's so great to see you enjoying life on Silver Fox! Sending well wishes from Colorado..., Mark
You guys have done a great job with your channel. The video quality is superb and the editing "fits" with what you're showing. As a fellow drone pilot, you are really doing great at that, too. Oh, including Google Earth screenshots works well, too. Keep it up, guys!
When explaining that you could see Blackpool Tower from atop the hill and showing us the panorama your enthusiasm was just catching, I just found myself with a big grin on my face. THANK YOU.
Top production and content as ever. Good spot for crabbing in the sea basin had many a happy hour with the children. Good luck with your onward journey. Thanks for sharing keep up the good work. All the best Pete
LOVE the quality of your video "stories", made all the better through the aerial shots and great music selections. Oh! PLEASE DO NOT check too carefully under the bow well step. I've created a comfy cubby in there, and wish to remain anonymous. You MIGHT find your grocery bills going up a tad, though...
Dear guys, another great video with a variety of scenery, local info, movement, 'boat facts' and smiles. My Aunt lived on a narrowboat for a few years and I have happy memories of a week between Banbury and Gas St basin. Went up a big flight of locks somewhere. Fabulous. Thank-you for your sharing. In Devon we have 11miles of navigation...the Grand Western...which is cut off so doubt you'll make it here :/ Take care of each other (all three), kind regards, Chas C
Have really been enjoying your adventures. I must say, superb video editing!! Maybe one day I'll get to England to drive a narrow boat through the beautiful English countryside!
I don’t know what to do to get in first. I was busy cutting the lawn when this arrived. In a previous life, i used to do a lot of offshore sailing, and we used to take the boat to Glasson for lay up during the winter. I lived in north Wales at the time. It is a lovely little spot. Spent a lot of time and money in the pub too. The beer is better in Yorkshire though. Another great vlog, keep em coming. ATB
I've had a busy day, and then I watched your video, and found myself relaxing, enjoying the beautiful scenery and the breathtaking sunset. You are so lucky to live in such beautiful, constantly changing surroundings. By the way, that unplanned dip looked brrr... cold, even though you said it wasn't. Those rascals who greased all the lock handles should be hung by their toe nails. (It was my greatest threat toward my kids when they misbehaved - and it always worked. Go figure.). :-)
Seeing any sunken boat always makes me sad that someone lost their dream. On the positive side, is there anything more lovely than a marina at sunset? If there is, I haven't seen it. Thanks for another great vlog!
Some very creative editing of superbly shot footage.....the drone scenery also adds another dimension too. Love the music accompaniment, really captures the mood you're delivering. Nice one you guys, keep 'em coming.
Foxes Afloat; and I would have a contract on my head from Shaun 😜 You know I’m only having fun with you I hope. You two are adorable together. Loving your Vlog, and my best mate and I are inspired to look at our own narrow boat. We hire one every year when we visit from Downunder and are hooked. We have nothing like it in Oz. Would love to bump into you boys on the water during a visit, thought it’ll probably be next year thanks to the “Rona” We’d definitely laugh the night away, I am there with you Colin as I suffer bad Anxiety and awful PTSD thanks to 26 years in military and 9 years nursing which I never regret. I’ve learned to love life and have fun.a Stay cute guys.
Thank you so much for going to Glasson dock. Most of my teenage weekends were spent there in the 70's. Lantern o' lune, a haven for teenage activities......cough, cough. First girlfriend, first kiss......etc!, second pint I ever had, at the Dalton arms, bike rides, walks, combing the shore opposite Sunderland point. Family static caravan at Lambs farm 1971 to 83. No Smokehouse then, but that looked lovely as well as expensive. You drone shots were absolutely fantastic, showed Glasson in a totally different light. Perfik! ! Thank you again.
I commented on the video after your meltown, reassuring you that being together is the only thing that matters. So today, I'm messaging you, after my long term Mrs and absolute love of my life has left. Three weeks ago I lost my job, and to be honest I don't know what's left for me, I'm heartbroken..... Mental Health is a part of all our lives in varying degrees..... and talking about it is vital. I just repeat what I said. When you have someone to love, who loves you back, hang on with both hands.... because as long as you have each other.... nothing else matters..... nothing at all. Sorry to hijack your comments section...
Possibly it’s too stop them rusting or like that anti vandalism stuff they use or possibly your right it’s a shame if they have been done on purpose bye a hater
Another super awesome vlog. Home Alone 2. The bit where he’s electrocuted on the taps and he’s squealing higher and higher and then you see him on his hands and knees a gibbering wreck. Cracks me up every time. Brilliant film and I even watch it when it’s not Christmas. 🤣🤣🤣🤣💕🤗
I've liked all your blogs. They brighten my day or top it off with an enhanced feeling good. But I do think this was the prettiest and best mooring you've shown. Ta, lads.
You guys are just plain awesome! You seem like just such good, genuine people and you make me laugh out loud. Thank you so much for the videos. Keep it up and I’ll keep watching. Mike B.
I expect everyone likes well-lubricated equipment and nobody wants a packed thruster tube. Lovely part of England by the looks of it. Excellent drone work in particular. Thanks 😊
Thank you for the mention in the credits. So sweet. Loved the travels down Glasson Branch. Colin, you get a workout with all those locks. As usual, thanks so much for sharing your adventures.
I'm really growing to like these videos, it's not my usual kind of content. I usually watch more adventure sports type videos with surfing, skateboarding and mountain biking in, but these videos have a lovely pace and am getting to see an alternative view of the North West. I didn't know that the Leeds/Liverpool has that branch that takes you up to the Ribble, i've crossed the River Douglas bridge at Tarlton hundreds of times and just thought the other waterway was just a drainage ditch, so thank you for educating me, a great little channel. I'm sure you'll get to 100k and get you RU-vid silver button.
14:27 to 16:20 is breathtaking cinematography and a beautiful score. I paused the video for a long while to just "take in the silence" at the end of it. ... Then watched it again a few more times. Thank you for that mindblowing experience!
This was as always a lovely vlog. 6:29 I can almost hear Shaun saying "You cannot say that" or him just bursting into laughter after what you say there, believe me i chuckled. At 10:48 I had a flashback of when my Granded Henry would take me and my younger brother for a long walk on a Sunday morning down to Hemsworth Water Park while my mother and Nanna got on with preparing and getting the dinner on the go, and of course my grandad would stop by on our way back at the club and get us a glass of cola and he would have a pint of "mucky beer" as we called it back then before going back to their house, well the water was always a bit choppy especially in the colder months and that sound and the water it brought those kinds of memories back, strange I know. At 10:55 I thought my eyes were deceiving me for a moment, but yes, this is one of those rare occasions when we don't see Colin wearing Superdry, though woul dbe a bit ironic for the superdry clothes to get super wet given what you needed to do to explain the change of clothing, but Colin probably also seemed the better suited for this as he loves stripping off it seems. I do not envy the task you had to do Colin, I had shivers just even watching it and had to get a hot sweet cup of tea just to warm me up. What I love most about your vlogs besides the two of you being able to make me laugh so much they bring tears to my eyes is the breathtaking views you manage to capture on your drone footage, and the history of places as you travel the water ways and that is brilliant. Stay amazing guys, much love.
I may have said this this before (I am old (er) and repeat myself) but you have such a talent for picking the right music for the right scene...…..among your other talents. Brilliant to use a British term.
