The J&J Speed and Machine "Jumping Jack Flash" nostalgia front engine dragster is right at the point where we can start to plan the first start of Jimmy's real fin 409 small block Chevy. Jimmy and I are going over our checklist and making sure everything is done and done right. We need to put some final touches on the Hilborn Mechanical fuel injection and make sure all of the initial settings are correct. As we go over every little detail, we are making sure we didn't miss anything, that could cause some major issues and negate all the hard work that has gone into this slingshot dragster.
While we wanted to fire this up in this video, we still had more work to do and also go over a few things off camera. Next steps will be installing a Vertex magneto, setting that up, and putting on the awesome zoomie headers. A lot of work has led up to this point, I am getting very excited! If all goes well, 2 Hacks Garage will be hitting the dragstrip and getting our competition licenses. From there, well it is time to go drag racing and nostalgia drag race events across the Midwest. Things are coming down to the wire, you don't want to miss this! Be there or be square!
