Disagree. When they invade its over for gardening in that area within a few years. They multiply very rapidly and your ability to home compost and use that compost is over. Even when the compost is hot composted, they stay at the cool soil level then move up when the soil cools. Tea tree meal apparently works, but there is one importer and it is very expensive to get it shipped. It would require hundreds of dollars be spent annually to knock them back.
This isn't helpful. No word on the Mustard trick to bring them to the surface to kill. The fertilizer with Saponins, etc. Yes we get we shouldn't share plants etc
If you find jumping worms living around your area, am afraid its a little to late eradicating them quite frankly. They live so deep underground that eradicating all of them is almost impossible. You maybe lucky nabbing a few of em in the rainy months who abandoned their flooded burrows just to avoid drowning but, you won't be able to catch and euthanize all of them who are living in higher grounds with less floods especially tiny hatchlings. We're just gonna have to learn how to live with them whether we like it or not.
My whole yard is jumping worms and I want them gone! I hate them and my yard is ugly and gross. Will weed killer kill them? I will use anything at this point. There’s no way I could ever destroy all the worms we have. Even if I picked each one I saw it would barely make a dent
I used a soap water and vinegar solution spray meant to kill lantern flies. I poured some in a ziplock bag and threw every thrashing worm I found into the bag. That did it!
