Jun Mizutani. Everyone know who he is. Best Japan table tenis player in new era. From few years on rankings top, bronze medalist from Rio....and player who has best defensive touch in the world.
If Mizutani played in the 80s, he could probably be the world top players with that defense. Unfortunately, the attack nowadays is too good for that kind of play now.
Most players don't see that the best way to play against a player who likes to be far from the table IS NOT power of the ball but the location, when players are using only power in fact they are doing a favor to the player who is expecting the ball far from the table Jan-Ove Waldner was a good example of how to play against these players, position and short balls kill these players.
Mizutani's opponents think if they hit it hard enough he won't get it back. You can hear all the grunts as they try to smash the ball past him - rarely works. lol
I can not understand, if the defender was so far away from the table why didn't the attacker put the ball near the net? Sorry, I'm not an expert in pingpong ( but fans of anime pingpong )
Because when the ball comes from that far you have to heavily smash it. Putting the ball near the net it s not easy and sometimes it may cause the switch from attacker to difender. The safest thing is to keep smashing the ball until the defender misses
I'm pro amateur table tennis player, I agree with you, They're supposed to pull the ball near net. I wonder the same thing, why can't they do it just like Ma Lin did?
@@user-lm9ve2js2t yea, thats how I usually play, if my opponent is so far from the net I usually put the ball near the net and maybe apply a little back spin on it. So if they try to chase the ball, chance is their return is an easy ball and I don't need to spent much energy to make a point.
Abdur Rahman Yeah! Agree ! This confuses me that world class player rarely do short ball when return high lobs. This rellllly confuses me. I suppose that those world class player don't play strategically
TTZhangJike I have a strange suggestion: gather all the points with commentators famous shouting of enjoyment! you know like the "ushaa, unbelievable point" etc. Would be nice...
comparison of best footwork between Ryu seung Min and Xu Xin. Best forehand players.. like Ryu , Wang Liqin, Ma Long and Xu Xin .. how about Liu guoliang's best serve or the best players for serving ...
You are very funny. I started making videos before Top 8 TT and for me his videos are very bad. He put a lot of points from 3 maybe 4 matches without music and visual efects. He has 5 k subs only because he put a lot of videos on his channel. Please stop compare me with him because this is so stupid...
That way of playing ... playing "safe" too much lobbing.. is a proof of weak mentality in my opinion. The reason how Chinese can dictate and take the initiative of the game.
mizutani's bh loop is relatively weak. his fh is stronger but he plays mostly a speed game at the table. so off the table, he pretty much can only bh fish, lob, occasional loop, and fh
