🎣 now that is one fantastic sized catfish, for sure it is and definitely a good meal out of that one. Catfish are so delicious. A job well done on catching this fish 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
When I was a kid, a friend of mine and myself pulled 7 channel cats all about this size from under a small dock on a duckweed infested lake with a cane pole and 10lb test. It was one of the funnest days of fishing in my life. We were laughing the whole time! 😂😂😂
I called it before I you said anything, I did the exact same thing on a shakey head rig, 60 lb flathead, took me close to 20 minutes to get it in. Awesome stay with him.
Kudos on way ya quietly handled the fish!! Constant pressure, let drag do the work, eased the fish onto bank! Time to get exited, whoop, holler, dance, scream AFTER ya landed him!! Well done!!
Fight it with the rod and drag. Amazing what you can catch that exceeds the test rating of your line. I would have turned him back. He was an older gentleman to be that size. Fun to say hello, might get to see him again one day
Nice job working it in on 12lb line... i once got a 52 lb 4' 2" long flat head on 17lb stren line....after that i started using 50lb line on 9' surf pole....been hooked on flathead cat fishing ever since...everything else is just bait...
My personal record is a 36lb salmon on 6# test. Loved the video! Awesome that this was your first date! I also caught my record on my first date. Thanks for sharing.
I thought I had a big cat a few years ago on 6lb test and a crappie pole. Just messing around at night with some chicken livers not really expecting much. Fought it for what felt like an hour and when I finally got it to the shore and was excited to see how big it was, it showed itself and was a massive snapping turtle! Scared the crap out of me at first expecting a fish.
I was fishing in a gravel pit the river ran into at the inlet. Hooked what I thought was a big walleye. Turned out to be a big snapping turtle too. He was hooked in the front leg, I went to grab my jig to unhook him and he snapped at me and cut the line. Almost lost a digit that day
