Berries, vegetables and wildflowers growing in my back yard during early June. It's a minor gardening effort, offering some food and learning. I'm not trying to showcase perfection in technique. Gaston County, North Carolina.
Thank you. There are RU-vidrs with spectacular gardens, but I figured I'd present what "just a little effort" can achieve. After I eat my own greens for a few days in a row - that's a $5 bag of salad that I avoided buying!
I was interested when you mentioned you water your avocados twice a day? Are you not concerned with root rot and wet feet? I water 1-2 times max a week with a heavy watering. Would love your thoughts on this.
I have also seen the many articles about the importance of good drainage. But I think what that really means, is that plants should not sit in stagnant soil, and that's more likely in containers. Mature trees in the ground can handle more watering. I believe they need it. I was only watering once a day until a few weeks ago. It comes down to observing your trees and what they need. When I notice mine with drooping leaves late in a summer day, I water again and they perk back up.
