June + July (mostly horror/thriller) Reading Wrap Up! 

I'm thinking Membranes might be one of my all time faves at this point, I'm glad you loved it! I have to check out Viy, I think I would start with the movie, because I am a sucker for good visuals. Not quite the same vibe as Candyman, but maybe you'd like When No One is Watching by Alyssa Cole, definitely has the city setting with Brooklyn and it has gentrifiers are evil themes

You have definitely lowered my expectations for that Swanson book. Folx were losing their marbles over it.
