Dear Davi...great grandfather was NOT a "paper son". He was in "America" since he was 14 years old and that was around 1874, before the Anti-Chinese movement-Gary Acts in 1892 where he became a U.S. Permanent Resident Alien with the permit to stay and work in the United States. He did not "buy" his legal document to stay and work legally in the United States. He set food in America before there were all this discrimination/anti Chinese sentiments....
Time for healing and helping Black families during this pandemic. Too many are facing eviction, debt, unemployment and digital divide. This Federal holiday must be able serve to Black Americans like MLK Day, not just events.
