Junior doctors across England to go on strike over pay, burnout 

Can confirm lots of UK doctors are coming to Australia, and they are amazing. We're grateful to have them here, but it's absurd that they have to move countries in order to be treated with the dignity and respect that they deserve to have.

The British government is to focused on issues outside it's boders than it's own people, public medical care is a basic necessities in a modern society

They are being forced to strike and anyone who thinks they don’t deserve their wages meeting the rise in inflation has never worked a twenty four hour shift in melting heat under such stress should work in a hospital for three months.

When I was in UK. I saw empty boarded up streets under a constant grey sky, litter everywhere. Homeless people sleeping in doorways. Opioid addicts out of their mind and women so drunk they urinated on the streets. It's a sad declined country

This problem has been a long standing rigidity in the NHS administrative structure.Too many managers and chief executives on fat cat salaries.Not enough doctors receiving a fair pay for their work intensity and the specialised level of service they are directly providing.

Governments rather put money into the military, than into healthcare. Also, with England specifically, I wonder what will brek the camels back when it comes to the monarchy. Taxes that go into funding the lifestyle of a wealthy family who stole much of their wealth from the poor and Black and brown people through "colonies", should be going into other areas like healthcare or those taxes could be cut to save ppl money. The English people should disband the monarchy and seize the money and assets they have accumulated to fund these dying systems.

The government should of listen when people said lockdowns don’t work….. This would of saved hundreds of billions of pounds. Would have people waiting lists. Creating a more desirable place to work. With less work load! With more money in the government’s pockets to give them a pay rise 😉

This is extremely concerning. In any profession this would be an alarming occurrence but to be happening with future doctors is scary. Already, it is hard to get an appointment with doctors and this is just going to amplify that situation. This trend is particularly alarming as it has already resulted in a shortage of doctors, and it is only going to get worse if the they don't get compensated appropriately. This shortage of doctors could have serious consequences for the quality of care provided by the NHS, which is already under significant pressure due to increasing demand for healthcare services. Obviously this extends to more than just junior doctors and any medical professional should be compensated appropriately according to their skill and training. As Tim said in his tweet, the change they are asking for is not an unreasonable one, and they are doing enough work to make it worth while. Moreover, it is a deeply concerning development that healthcare professionals who have dedicated years of their lives to training and serving the public are feeling undervalued and unappreciated in their home country, leading them to seek better opportunities elsewhere. If the trend of healthcare workers not feeling like they are being compensated enough continues, I am scared for the future of healthcare. On the other hand, I could not imagine feeling comfortable leaving patients out to dry like that. I know that a job in healthcare needs to be compensated but I also don't think that should be the main reason one gets into the field. According to recent articles there have already been about 200,000 canceled appointments and I am sure that many of those people need help. Although, I agree that the pay cut is ridiculous and needs to be fixed, I don't know if a strike is the way to handle it in the medical profession. There has to be another way to get the point across without causing harm to people in need of help.

I know of a Junior Doctor, she drives a brand new Lotus Elise, lives in an exclusive apartment overlooking Liverpool Albert Docks, and has already been to the Barbados twice this year. She’s also going on strike for more money. Bless her.
