Delta State government should step into the issue of paying 40 million Naira before retrieving the dead body. That money is too much and it should be treated as a case of holding hostage of a dead person. Why 40 million...to do what? In my village, if someone is drowned, you won't pay any money to take the corpse for a befitting burial, you will only do some sacrifice at the river bank to appease the marine spirits which will not cost you up to 20 thousand Naira.
