This was my favorite licensed song from Dance Dance Revolution for such a long time. Over the years, I would hear it pop up here and there like in a commercial, a movie, a throwback pop radio channel, etc. Now Nicki Minaj very recently (~New Year 2024) used a beat that heavily samples it, and it keeps the irresistible urge to dance while modernizing it. I was so excited to show my boyfriend because he has long since tapped out of pop music and hip-hop in general because I knew he'd love this, and sure enough it's now one of his favorite songs...as is this modern classic. 🧡 I'm sorry that Junior Senior had a pretty short career because this album had plenty of bangers, like "Shake Your Coconuts", but either way thanks to the internet and social media, I'm so glad they are finally getting their flowers. 🌹

My parents were in the midst of a messy divorce around the time this music video was released. I remember the first time I ever heard it I was unpacking my stuff in my new room at the duplex I was moving into with my dad after getting uprooted from my school and all my friends. In a moment of sadness and darkness this song brought light and joy.

I was 92 when this song came out, used to move my feet. Now I'm dead but I keep moving my feet. Amazing how times flies.

I love this video so much. It's so random and entertaining, from well before being random was something that people tried to do to be edgy for clicks. My favorite two parts have always been the get naked and the end when the squirrel blows up the Earth. It's one of my all-time favorite MTV videos, and I was in Junior High when MTV first came on the scene, so that says a lot.
