In todays video, Father Phil is away! So it's time to get into the scrap pile and get a corner of the yard cleared up. Theres rubbish, trees, muck, peat, timber and vintage implements even! We need your help as we find something we're not sure what it is and the tree has grown up the middle of it!! Father Phil is sure to know but can you at home guess what it's for?! Let us know in the comments down below. We also talk through some of the other areas of rubbish around the farm and talk through what we're going to do with these areas once they are clean and our plan for cleaning them up with the extra help we have!
Hope you enjoy, any questions hit me down in the comments below, thanks for watching! G'Luck

not picking at ya but yuo could make a fairly decent series of this, good few areas around the yard to get the treatment and you have plenty of good stories about the areas in question, videos would cover the cost of the skip's' as well

Forget about the negative people and thier comments Phil. You keep tippin away at your clean ups and bring us along with you, you'll get the place the way you want it eventually. 👍🏼 I love a good tidy up video. I'd suggest putting in a deeper stripe of concrete out from the shed when you are pouring the fresh slab. That way when you do extend the shed out over it you can bolt down the steel columns 👍🏼

Great video again, cleaning up an honest mess… the skip in the yard is the only way to make progress. Glad that Ferguson Earth Scoop was spared the Wilson Skip treatment… would be an awful shame if it was tossed out. Fabulous steel in those implements, the thing is very fixable and a great bit of history.

I know the feeling, 30 years ago we brought a farm owned by one family for 120 years, lots of rubbish etc in sheds etc. Then my other half started milling timber and we ended up with 8 piles of timber of various sizes 7 years later, most has become firewood, combined or used. Now only two piles!!! He also had fence posts in several areas, and when we refenced he kept the netting etc.

Fair play Phil. Good to have a plan in your head and keep tipping at it bit by bit. Just wondered if that outside meal bin is watertight?? Some of the steel from around the yard to divide it into a few pens and false ceiling with straw above for insulation. Make a quick and simple sick bay to see how it works without big outlay???

Great video Phil, grand bit of work got through there. The calf area should be grand coz the sick calf won’t be able to get at the healthy ones. A foot bath like the one you already have would be ideal to stop you spreading the infection accidentally into the bigger pen. 👍🏻

Another great video Phil.👏👏👍👍 It's not easy trying to keep a place tidy. When your coming & going everyday, like ye do,cause of the other work ye do. Do the bit's as ye need them, like cleaning out the old parlor (maybe next or fairly soon) to give ye more time to plan out the lay out ye want & need for the piggery. Would you think of putting a pipe into the pit going to the outside slurry tank ye have there, with a pump on it,for the pig slurry?👂🤚 I know it wouldn't be cheap, you'll be surprised on time saving ye'll have cause of doing it. I'd be more in the line of thinking that the sick calf hut would be to far away from the shed (that's just me). Why only raise the roof by just 6"Inc? Why not a few feet? To be able to get a tractor into,☝️if you need to. They'll time's that ye're small telehandler, mightn't be free, for some reason. Also 6" Inc isn't much higher. So it'll be more likely to get hit by the tellie some day. Ya,go around the place & look at different calf shed's. Mid April might be better to start doing that. It's up to ye,not me/us. As anyways keep up the good work.👏👏👍👍

For all in your own words the place is a shit hole, it's only corners of it, and every farm has those corners. But most importantly, the junk piles aren't affecting the welfare of the animals, they are still healthy and happy. Good job getting the first corner started, the hardest part is getting the motivation to start.
