This was wonderful Pam!! Thank you for sharing. 🎁 Am still working on my first mess of a gift journal out of a5 bullet journal am adding stuff to . Right now am making a big mess with glue trying to make the 6 pockets in v shape to put the tiny tags I made. I have ordered through your link from Amazon. Discovered that using pictures from magazines & original books is better than photocopying as the ink has run with the glue & my fingers. But am enjoying myself. The journal for your hubby has given me ideas for my sons ( they're grown men who I want to make something special for also though they may never journal.) You're opening up a world for me. Pam if you happen to look at this I need your suggestions again if possible. Am looking at the journal am making as a gift and truly am about to scrap it possibly give up then try something else. But in the meantime any advice to fix some badly glued pages? I did see your video on fixing ink problems which when you do something it turns out beautiful. I thought I might cut out the pages somehow or possibly cutting Dutch doors to try to repair? The issue is pages are badly crinkled from using while white type washable supposedly school glue. I added print from books which I selected that would apply to the journey in her life & botched it up. I haven't added the rest fortunately. I had pictures from great, great grandparents homes to her childhood printed on card stock in b & w thinking it might inspire her on the journaling journey . I don't know what I was thinking. Anyway thank you ahead of time as you're an inspiration

Here's a tip or 3: Consider fabric to cover serious wrinkles if all else fails. You can use it as a base for something else. Or if the page is beyond repair you can remove that one page but only do this if all else fails because you will lose 4 pages by removing one sheet. First blur and blend with inks and colors, then try covering with papers or frames or embellishments like pockets or tucks then resort to fabrics or notebooks glued onto the page to cover most of it. Try a few things to see what masks it best. :) Where there is a will there is a way :)!! Let me know how it goes :)

I'm working on pockets out of evenlopes & other things all away from the journal as I get discouraged looking at it and trying my hand at other things for it as I watch your videos. Love the idea of doing something for my husband but he’s always skeptical that he will find use for these things. Then, I had the inspiration to use those wine bottle labels that I had asked you for advise about in a previous comment. So, I was just curious about the method for hiding the binding in the first journal (made from the file folder) as the flip through went a little fast for me to make it out. I am about 1 year into my junk journaling journey (say that 3 times fast) have started my own RU-vid channel for rank beginners basically just showing some finished products (but heaven help me- NO tutorials) crediting you and others for the inspiration and rarely complete a journal from start to finish so much as add your inspirations for pockets, inserts, fold-outs etc. to existing pages on a daily basis. Hi! I think if I recall correctly I made the insdie covers and spine from the file folder and used a 3 hole pamphlet stitch to secure the signatures then I covered the outside of the covers and spine with embossed kraft paper. I will have to look at it again when I get home to be sure but I think that is right :0) And remember as long as you are having fun that is all that really matters :) There is no destination here, just the journey :) Enjoy the ride! :)

I liked the story! :) I go to your podcast to listen and I will dedicate that time on fussy cutting stuff. Love to make altered books, or I use notebooks. Junkjournals not so much, because binded books are already there to start altering. I make pagespread after pagespread , I have no theme in my journals. And I work around a picture most of the time. Because I want to make keepsakes , but with my own journalingtwist. There can be very nice pages around a beautiful picture, but also a crazy streetart sort of page. And every time I close a bookI finished, I know my children will have fun looking in it. Something they dont throw away once I am nocky (like in dead :) ) Thats the only way my journals work for me. Its a artjournal, scrapbook and junkjournal all in once. Full of hidden things they will discover. Or not...

oh wow auch gorgeous journals. may I use the themes for inspiration for my own? not copying, just use for inspiration? and I had never heard pf the treasures either, and I love history and mysteries and treasures. Im gonna research the cocoa islands and the treasures also. would love to meet you and any other junk journal and crafters some day, soon hope. maybe we can plan a get together for anyone wants have a crafters weeekend

How do you attach the envelopes etc . What type of glue? Pls and thanks.

For a super strong hold I use Fabrifix glue. For strong but very flat hold I use Art Glitter glue. There are links to these below each video in the descriptions if you would like to see them :)

Super toll cool. Ich möchte zum 80. Geburtstag meines Liebsten (Ehemann) ein JJ mit 6 Signaturen schaffen. 1. JAHRESZEIT Seine Vorfahren, Opa Oma Onkel Tanten, Vater und Mutter. 2.Jahreszei Seine Kindheit 3. Jahreszeit Jugend und 1. Liebe 4. JAHRESZEIT die 5 Kinder und der Tod seiner Frau 5. JAHRESZEIT Neues Glück mit mir und kurzer Überblick unserer Geschichte mit Highlights der letzten 20 Jahre. 6. Glückwünsche von unsern 7 Kindern plus Partner und 11 Enkel mit Urenkel. Das heißt, ich mache 6 Signaturen. Und zu jeder Signatur soll auch ein wenig von der Zeitgeschichte dazu. Ich hab nirgends im www was dazu gefunden, ein JJ für einen 80zigjährigen. Mein Englisch ist nicht gut... ...Bin 76 Jahre alt und habe erst jetzt mit dem JJ angefangen. Im April wußte ich noch nicht was ein Junkjournal ist.
