Earlier this year I reconditioned a badly broken (dropped and smashed) MX115. The construction is amazing and , other than the glass parts, everything was repairable and not one cap or other component needed to be replaced. crazy I know. But when I started listening to it it was, perhaps, the most sublime and pleasing sound I ever heard. So just for fun I attached it in a processor loop on my main system and it actually added that sweet sound. So I had all the modern digital, remote controlled convenience with that vintage sound. I was torn with what to do with it because a dear friend I had just found after 50 years really wanted it and we made a trade that was more than fair. He's really loving it and has been spurred on to improve other parts of his system with remarkable results. Love that vintage Mac stuff.

They are pricey. Really a great preamp/tuner even compared to a lot of the modern equipment. Amazing performance in the 1960's when this MX110 was manufactured.

@@vintageaudioaddictI had one in excellent condition, I'm a technician & had the schematic to ensure that it was. One of the most mediocre pieces of vintage valve gear I ever collected. Aside from the name & the fragile glass front, it really didn't sound like much. The tuner was on par with the mediocre Dynaco FM3 but no better. The preamp section was a bit better than a Dynaco PAS but suffered the same kind of bland, empty Dynaco sound. Much worse sounding & no better built with the exact same internal parts quality as anything from Harman-Kardon or Fisher, just for a lot more money!😒
