Yes some who loves the lost world ! I never understood why people hated it so much. Because it's different? Isn't that a good thing? There are certainly silly scenes and other issues but overall it's incredibly directed.
LachyM8!!!!!! Meh the raptors weren't scary at all in that one for me, too much cgi and silliness with them too. Although I liked the overhead shot of them stalking everyone in the long grass. I just think that shock factor that the original gave us can never be done again and tbh shouldn't be done again but hey this is 2018 the modern day film era which is pretty much remake or produce pointless awful sequels to every classic film imaginable just to earn some petty cash off its name. No one can make anything original anymore
3 Frag Jag. Yep. That I can agree. So many pointless reboots, remakes, prequels and late sequels. The only Exception I've seen lately in blade runner 2049. That movie was incredible, original and respectful of the first movie.
LachyM8!!!!!! I haven't seen the new one to that that yet tbh. I heard there is gonna be a 4k release of jurassic park this year isn't there? If that's true I'm gonna need too upgrade my tv I think!
I miss the VHS days. Though, I was born in 98. We didn't mainly used DVDs till 2009. We used a VHS, or my family did. For 10+ year! Edit: Man, I'm having nostalgic feelings, watching this now! I saw the first three on DVDs. So these were the ones I had!
I had that Jurassic Park DVD Trilogy boxset. I no longer have the cases, but those discs are so nostalgic for me. They are scratched and scuffed to crap, but The Lost World still works completely fine. Unfortunately JP1 and 3 start to buffer around halfway through the films. Those DVDs were my childhood.
I’m one of those late 90’s kids that watched entire Jurassic Park trilogy first on VHS! I had Jurassic Park VHS copy, but it was standard edition in cardboard box. I also had The Lost World and JP3 VHS editions, obviously. It was around 2002-2003. In 2005/2006 I finally got my hands on Jurassic Park Trilogy DVD set (European one) and watched all three movies for the first time on DVD, what a cool experience it was! And I vividly remember all DVD menus, screens, CGI Raptor, it was so cool back at the day. Later down the line I owned standard DVD editions of all three movies and in 2014 or 2015 I bought Blu-Ray Ultimate Trilogy set. Sadly, I lost my first Trilogy DVD set over time… But now, in 2022, I own entire trilogy on Apple TV and can watch it any time I want from my laptop or even iPhone. And I still remember watching Jurassic Park on one of those late 90-s TV’s on VHS…
I have the vhs of 1994. And the dvd box set of 2005. I can't remember the menu design off this set, great cgi raptor. It does not have the SWS design but we can always imagine, use our fantasy, that it's maybe a different kind of raptor that we not saw in the movie. Thanks for showing your media collection JC. You really bring the franchise to a bigger public with your channel!
I have the Jurassic Park Trilogy tin collection on blu-ray. I was shocked to see none of the DVD extras in the blu-ray addition. Glad I have both. Are any of the dvd extras/commentary on the blu-ray versions?
Personal favorite is the collector's edition main menu for the first movie. Real nostalgic for me, and I love the whole impact tremor thing. I remember closing my eyes and covering my ears as a lil 4 or 5 y/o when I pressed play cus the T-Rex genuinely frightened me.
Interesting, the Brazilian version of the individual DVDs had the same covers as your US editions, but the menus from your UK edition. There was also a boxset containing the exact same DVDs from the UK but in a much simpler case and different boxart and did not included the Beyond disc, which is a shame as I never knew about it until this video!
What a nice idea for showing all the menues! Very nice! Strange thing: Your 2004 Release have the menue from our original release 2000 It was released here in Germany on the 10.10.2000...But we had the menues from the 2004 Box Set! Man I paied 1000 DM ( which is about 600 Dollar) for a DVD Player just to watch JP on DVD. So nice times...
My favorite is the original collectors edition Jurassic Park and Lost World menus with the T-Rex foot print. I love the use of Incident on Isla Nublar and Visitor in San Diego on those two menus. Also I got those two when I was sick in the hospital so it made my stay much better. :)
I had both Jurassic Park (funny enough with spanish subtitles) and Lost World in vhs, The Ultimate trilogy on dvd which had a box to resemble the gate of the park which I think was the first version release on the US I remember they might of been another one release later. The latest one on I have is the blu ray trilogy that came in the box set with the t-rex statue. More likely I will keep getting the series for future formats.
for the U.S VHS just plays the MCA Universal logo, I had the VHS and around 2005 I bought the jurassic park gate collection set opens the gate. and around 2011 I bought the blu ray silver set and that is the best set ever released.
You've got a wonderful singing voice at the start of the vid! And I still love VHS and even audio cassettes, but I despise their tendency to be chewed up in the player at times. That's how I lost my beloved copy of Yellow Submarine... I think the opening to the 2000 release of JP and TLW are the best--just something about the presentation of the menu design really hits home for me.
I use to have the 4:3 aspect ratio Jurassic Park VHS and watched it once or twice a year until about 2005 when my VCR kinda ate the tape. Ive owned the first three Jurassic park movies on DVD and now own them and Jurassic World on Blu Ray. I also use to own that Back to the Future Box set. I remember right before it came out. I sold it about 6 years ago and picked up the first Blu-Ray release of Back to the Future Trilogy.
I think this just goes to show you how much more of an upgrade DVD was compared to Blu-Ray. Streaming will have completely cannibalized itself and DVD will still be around. Just looking at VHS to DVD. Ridiculous leaps and bounds higher than any other new format that's been stamped with "The successor to DVD"
I have the 2005 version of the spinosaurus box set but it's box is the front gates and inside is a really beautiful background with a raptor up close and all 3 DVDs inside also great video I really love watching
It's funny because the Special Edition versions of the movies were sold separately as well here in the Netherlands. I don't know if they ever came in a nice box like that, but the disc art and menus are the same.
I think they got a bit too clever when coming up with the Blu-ray spec. It was relatively easy to create a fancy looking DVD menu assuming you had the right assets but with Blu-ray the menus are run on Java so I think people tended to use more generic menus in order to save money in production. Not to mention that you need really expensive software to author a Blu-ray title. You could pick up DVD Studio Pro back in the day for a fraction of the cost of the Sonic Scenarist software the big studios were using and make something just as good. Blu-ray? The Adobe software which was your only option was discontinued and probably no longer compatible with the latest Mac OS just like DVD Studio Pro.
I had the Jurassic Park DVD Adventure pack (I think that's what it was called.) It came with to OG DVDs in a box that looked like to Gates of Jurassic Park, and it opened like a gate. I played so much as a kid that we had to get a new one.
Holy shit. Why is your JP3 menu so wide? When the raptor slashes the screen, and when the metal pulls apart, you can still see each side of the metal on the left and right sides. The edges of my menus stop way before that. What's the deal??
I had the 95 4:3 VHS and my version of the 3D Bluray is different with alternative cover art on box and disk in a single disk pack. Also I use the Apple movies format now.
ive got the first 3 on vhs the lost world has a motion effect collectors card that when you turn it back and forth it changes from the standard logo to a rex head smashing through it i actually like the lost world the most probably because it was the fist one i saw in theatres back in 97 also its fantastic toy line. dvd i have individual ones and for x-mas one year got a collectors edition that has the first two films there sound tracks and two film clips with letters of authenticity for jp its the brachiosaurus wide shot and for the lost world its when the camera goes behind ian, edde and nick showing the stegos. blu ray i got the one with the rex statue smashing through the main gates and for jw i got the one with the rexy and indom statues. P.S. you should use those digital codes soon sometimes the codes expire happened for a few movies i bought on the clearance rack only about 2 years after they came out :(
In Argentina, the VHS tape was yellow, which I think was really cool: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vGp0PzBo7D0.html And there's also a promotion, a sort of a teaser, before it got a release on VHS. I don't know if it's official or not, it's simple, but interesting: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ViAVAYfleso.html (BTW, I know since this comment has links, it will probably go into your SPAM box, but I just care for you to watch it. Hey JC! I've been here since 1k, not with this account, and wondering maybe you could shout me out? It'll be really appreciating! Also keep up the good work!
