"Pterodactyl" can refer to all pterodactyloid pterosaurs, so it's not entirely wrong to use it on Pteranodon or Quetzalcoatlus. It doesn't work with the Dimorphodon, which is not a pterodactyloid, though.

Please fix the title. Pterodactylus is another type of animal (that appeared in some games too) but it is not canon to the films and never made any appearences in them. The bigger ones are Pteranodons and the smaller ones are Dimorphodons, but they’re both pterosaurs (the cousins of the dinosaurs), wich means that saying “Pterosaurs escape” is the best name for the video.

@@aJhLsmi Bigger crests are used a lot by Mattel. And concept art shows some big crest variants. The JP3 scrapped Alpha Male is the most outstanding JP3 Pteranodon, ad least, for me. I love that Raven like colors with the orange crest !!! 😊

My favorite scene in Jurassic world my only problem with it though is the fact the pteranodons (even though they probably wouldn’t) didn’t attack the children more not to sound dark but they woudl be easier to lift (despite the fact they have hollow bones) but none the less I love the pteranodons and dimorphodons in this scene I kinda wish there were more of them though

I absolutely love this scene. I think this is the most chaotic scene from Jurassic world and I absolutely love that. However I wanted to mention that in this scene it was confirmed that only Zara died which is really unrealistic imho since there were dozens of people getting attack right before our eyes yet only Zara died? Ok then. Still I adore this scene

The OFFICIAL Jurassic World page is using Pterodactyl as the name….they are PTERANODONS man! In canon, in real life, by all measures of common DECENCY lol Frt wouldn’t freak out, it’s probably just a goof from a social media manager who doesn’t know better. Be nice, lads!

For the people pointing out the apparent error in the title, "pterodactyl" can refer to all pterodactyloid pterosaurs, so it's not entirely wrong to use it on Pteranodon - though it doesn't work on the Dimorphodon, which are also present on the scene. BTW, the two guards at the start are a real mood, and using an air-raid siren to herald the pterosaur attack was simply GENIUS 😀

I don’t even think you’ve watched the first film. The whole point of that film was him learning that dinosaurs in the real world was an awful idea, that point was destroyed as soon as the second film where it turned into a cash grab. The movie doesn’t even mention Hammond. We’re talking about a film where a dinosaur expert goes into a cage to find a dinosaur even though it had a tracked they could’ve checked, man the indominus remembered having a tracker implanted even though it would’ve been tranquillised, but All that matters is making the dinosaur cool for little kids

But the movie is quite beloved. Critics are a bit harsh at times. But all 3 films in the Jurassic World franchise made over a billion dollars in box office. Fans of the Jurassic Park franchise loved most of them (Fallen Kingdom for sure was the weakest, but still hit a billion dollars). I do believe Jurassic World is the only non-Disney movie to reach a billion dollars in the last 10 years. Very much so a successful film and is my personal favorite film of all time (I have stood by this since I first saw it on release day)

@@theomoreira5638 at any rate, "pterodactyl" is a colloquial term rather than a scientific one - it can be used to refer to Pterodactylus specificially if you want to be restrictive, to all pterodactyloids if you want to be broader, and to all pterosaurs if you don't really care about distinctions
