Jussie Smollett will appeal: Lawyer says actor is innocent and confident in full reversal

Jussie Smollett has been found guilty on 5 out of 6 charges in the alleged hate crime hoax trial.
After a contentious week of witness testimony, counsel arguments and deliberation, the jury found Smollett guilty on the first five counts and he was acquitted on a sixth count, of lying to a detective in mid-February, weeks after Smollett said he was attacked.
Smollett was stoic as the jury read the verdict. The actor sat upright and stared straight ahead without showing any real emotion.

There has to be grounds for appeal. What are the grounds. Was there misconduct ? Was the defendant rights for due process subverted? An appeal is not granted just to re-argue a case where a verdict was alrwady reached by a jury.

Lawyer is a typical clout chasing dirt bag, deflecting to what social media says vs the evidence the jury saw in the court room and the verdict they unanimously reached. Smollet deserves the max sentence on behalf of anyone who actually suffered or will suffer from a hate crime and the wasted tax dollars.
