I think it is great to be able to see their faces! I can see their eyes going back and forth as they are listening and tracking each other. Make me realize how much concentration it takes to play. What a great panel, too! Thank you so much for uploading so we fans in the USA can see this television version!
7:40 I heard a writer interviewed who said he loved second hand bookstores. He went into one and found a fist edition copy of his first book. He purchased the book and on the inside cover was written, "Dear mom and dad, well here it is, my very first published book. I hope you like it!" and his own autograph.
I absolutely bloody love this programme. If it wasn't because Nicholas has reached such an age, and I am concerned with his wellbeing, I would write in enthusiastically for its television appearance. Because it will simply be fun to see them in telly!!!
If I had to name a modern 'core four', Sue Perkins and Graham Norton would have to be up there alongside Paul Merton... I think I'd have to go with Gyles Brandreth as the nearest thing we've got to another Sir Clement. What a great show!
I found this program a few years ago. I saw a place on-line where people can suggest topics to be discussed. My suggestion was "what's on the card" So Nick would say, "Talk for just a minute about what's on the card"
Yes it is a rare treat to see JAM on TV and I agree wholeheartedly with Iain regarding former stars of the show... especially the late and great, including Clement Freud and Derek Nimmo with their distinctive voices and the lovely Linda Smith. Ah well... make the most of it before it gravitates back to R4.
Sorry, but that's wrong. It's been done many times - at least once per series. On the 11 Just a Minute boxset it is done on much more than two occasions. It's not common but it's certainly not as rare as you suggest. Where did you get your figures from?
FINALLY, just a minute on TV! A massive child-like grin has spread across my face :D Shame they couldn't have done it in it's heyday when Clement Freud & Paul Merton were soo brilliant together & when Peter Jones, Derek Nimmo & Linda Smith also did it :'(
+jessie james Videos? No, they wouldn't've filmed radio in those days whatsoever. Would've taken up the valuable commodity of videotape. You could probably find some of the shows on CD if you look hard enough though.
TheRecreator thanks..too bad..i remember my whole family would listen on radio ...later they had a tv show hosted by Barry Took..on similar lines...maybe it was JOKERS WILD.
Actually, they did used to film radio shows. There are tonnes of footage of the Goons being filmed live. Not that I'm saying their are recordings of Just a Minute, just saying the BBC did used to film radio programmes.
I like this show, but sometimes it looks like they're reading off an autocue. If they are this is really one of the dumbest shows ever, since the whole point is to be able to improv for a long time.
