Warren Buffett is the third richest man in the world, yet lives a relatively humble life. Rebecca Jarvis reports on Omaha's least-conspicuous billionaire.
He lives in a normal house and there are no burglaries etc ? the good and also the bad people know he lives there. How is that possible that such rich person just lives like all the others ?
@@5950ziel I get your point but I’d imagine he has a security system and he doesn’t have much in the house worth too much. He has over 99% of his wealth in Berkshire stock. He doesn’t even use a computer
@@sxes 65? You can easily make a million in about 5-6 years through a startup (perhaps even faster) or/and investing in real estate. The latter option, however, requires that you know what you're doing and you have at least 100K to burn. Savings is useless if you really want to grow to get really big, unless you were born to work for others -- remember that there are two types of people: the ones that work for themselves; the ones that work for others.
7DK when I was in college I worked in a Starbucks in NYC and him and Bill Gates walked in when I was behind the register. $150 billion were standing in front of me for about 10 minutes.
alex Cooper you are not working for .25, taxes are about 1/7 or 14% which is normal, I dont know what your taxes specifically go to, and I am not saying the tax system is perfect, I am simply telling you, you are not working 25 cents an hour you are working 10 bucks an hour with 14% taxes being take. away from your lump sum, it is truly simple, how do you think you are being payed 25 cents an hour omegalul
I am an entrepreneur also (OBVIOUSLY not on his level or close) but i have a pretty good life, I was asked by a life coach what i wanted to achieve, my answer was just about the same, i want to wake up and be able to do anything I want on any given day, if you own your time and are not financially limited in what you can do you have conquered life.
I retired at 56 y.o., I visit my parents, crochet, volunteer, clean my house, teach bible study, do mission work and evangelism, visit my out of state family. I don't have cable, no iPhone, I love Jesuscrist and I live a Peaceful and Simple life.
I love how he even acknowledges that if he were Black or a female, his life and opportunities would have been different. Never thought he'd acknowledge that.
@@thegreatapple9616 I think he does not denounce Hispanic communities at all. Hispanic struggle is implied and is more increasingly becoming more aware/acknowledged in today's society. However, though some may say this is relative, one cannot argue that Black plight is very prominent and much more egregious in modern society. Consider this also, the time period in which he made these financial moves. Black minorities were much more higher in population, forefront of civil rights, and we're always in the "American eye". Either that be negative or positive. This does not negate that Hispanics were not achieving or experiences similar issues. It's just what and still continues to be in some cases, what the "dominant" class (White) still continues to focuse on.
Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for. Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. "You're not going to remember those expensive shoes you bought ten years ago, but you will remember every single morning when you look at your bank account that extra 0 in there. I promise, that's going to be way more fun to look at everyday", I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life too 🙏🙏🙏
yeah investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity but venturing into any legitimate Investment without a proper guidance of an expert can lead to a great loss too
Peter Jeong I guess, he’s thinking about all the maintenance costs and the unused spaces. He’s not gonna need it so it’s a waste of money. This is where the rich and poor man thinks differ. Some people just want to flaunt or gloat.
He is extraordinary because he’s regular. Other rich folks are snobbish and tends to show off their wealth in social media, but he keeps it simple which makes him the best billionaire.
Luis Gonzalez exactly. Buffet is a self made man and he deserves every bit of what he has accomplished. But being a softy doesn’t make a man a billionaire. That’s true. But he does have the discipline and good character nevertheless.
He is so rich i think he realized that there is no thing in world will satisfy him , Only thing worth is spending quality days ahead . I think that is what people need to focus on . Spend every day quality and be happy.
Pixel Dot, at least Warren Buffet doesn’t believe that it was his own hard work or intelligence only that’s responsible for his success. He knows that he is privileged to be a white male.
Investment is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people save enough money before retirement.
All you need do as a beginner is to contact a real broker that will give you the good knowledge you need about Bitcoin and binary option trading from there you can start investing.
2:22 "Well this is me and my classmates" I love how even with all his incredible deserved wealth it still doesn't ever distract Warren from the kids he grew up with c':
I watched this years ago and thought how silly it was that Warren didn't spend his money on luxury. As I have gotten older I am starting to see the Buffet's reasons and I agree with them.
It's like the mafia, he knows how to keep his mouth shut. Its a rigged system buddy. Why do think year after year the rich get richer. But now their time is running out and everything will come to light soon. 🐒🌙💰
I'm wondering that a lot of hollywood actors...some sport men think that they are powerfull because of their money and all of them combined do not reach the 1% of Warren's wealth...and he proves that luxury is meaningless because what matters is how one feels of what one is doing with his life. When some rich people spends their money in so manu houses and cars demonstrate that they want to fill an empty soul in their lifes...for me the truly american dream is the way of warren's life.
Warren buffet reminds me of my grandfather. Of course my grandfather isn’t a mega businessman billionaire but he’s a modest old man who was a surgeon and made a good living and a lot of money but he still lives with my grandma in their little house in Georgia, and rode on a moped until he was an old man. He just turned 90 recently and was volunteer teaching medical students and working at a clinic up until just before his birthday
If it were equal for black people from the begining we would be wealthiest people but you had laws and racists that held many opportunities from our ancestors which put us in a very low economical position warren buffet called for what it is
Market analysis of the USA, 16 October 2018 At the end of the week, US stock indices showed a negative trend. Apple Inc. (AAPL), which caused a decrease in the quotations of most…e-fin.top
He knows the answer to the question "how much money is enough?" If you became a billionaire, and after you bought everything money can buy, if you already ate all the food money can buy, after you've been in places your money can take you, and after you experienced all the things money can give... Comes boredom... And self destruction... Thats why he never done that, he knows where it ends, that's why he kept his feet on the ground, very wise move, very wise decision, a perfect trade in life.
At least he acknowledges his priveledge as a white male instead of saying, "You should work harder" "Stop complaining" "White priveledge doesn't exist" "Stop being lazy" "We all have the same opportunities in life" There is a HUGE difference in opportunities afforded to white males compared to white/ black females and black males. That is factual and I respect him more for saying it
White people created that opportunity for themselves, it didn't appear out of nowhere. There's a lot of rich Asians too, they aren't "privileged", they created that environment through centuries of building a solid working culture.
He is proof that money doesn't define the American middle class-its the values. I don't think he has ever felt that his money belongs to him. A great teacher for future generations.
W N you don’t have to like him, but where on earth do you get off saying he’s a scumbag? That’s going overboard. Did you ever stop and think that some here may have benefited from his generosity and it had nothing to do with tv?
This just goes to show you, money doesn’t buy happiness. He has all the money someone could want in the world and doesn’t floss with it or spend it on crazy stuff. Kudos to him my for being so humble.
@cold45acp Was Oprah born around the same time as Buffet? It's amazing how you absolutely missed his point because his truth speaking triggered you. If Oprah had been born in the 1930s like Buffet instead of the 1950s no way she, a black woman would have been able to build a billion dollar tv talk show empire. Her wealth is a direct result of the civil rights movement of the 1960s.
Black yes, female no. You females need to stop thinking your oppressed just because you're not working in the same jobs as men. Damn it's so annoying seeing white women claiming they're oppresed smh
Successful people don't become that way overnight.what most people see at a glance-wealth,a great career,purpose- is the result of hardwork and hustle over time.
Imagine having him as your grandpa, and I don’t mean cause your inheritance finna be poppin but because simply what a pure yet rational mind he has... even at that age.
Alex Tran One of the richest. I think he is the second richest. But he doesn'tcare that he is not the richest. And Bill Gates probably doesn't care that he is the richest.
This man is the true example of living the way that makes you happy, living what only how much you need, and not living to spend as much money as possible.
@@HermanWillems He believes that everyone should have these things, it's not the same thing as receiving everything for free :) There are no free things, someone is always paying. Think about the increased operating costs in the medical service caused by regulations and fees instead of delirious in the world of gratuity
I love how he told the truth about race, it was hard to pull yourself up by the bootstraps when you were the boots, even though blacks overcame odds and built wealthy communities until they were burned to the ground, therefore we have no wealth to pass down, each generation has to start from scratch!
“I want to be able to do what I want everyday” I think that pretty much sums up what we want as human beings. Not being worried about having a roof over our heads, food on our tables and basic necessities guaranteed. Then we could really do what makes us happy. But with the way housing is, and basic needs are, it’s just overwhelming
His company is. He is worth far less than that. George Lucas was worth millions but he sold LucasArts to EA and LucasFilms to Disney which made him a billionaire. He made 1.8 billion just off of Disney. He also owns a huge portion of Disney (roughly 40%)
I listen to these interviews and I find they are people who don't know what they're talking about and it is very very sad because they are the ones being stolen from. They have these ideas and their ideas are wrong but they can't shake them loose because they're there and it's all they have. That's the saddest part of life when you hold on to the Anchor when you should let go. I don't know them I see what they say it's all the same type. What's just insanity. It's crazy to ruin your life my blessing another man who is stealing your money especially if you cannot figure it out that you've been so brainwashed that you don't know your parts being picked that's the people who are waiting here I read them all and almost all of them are pathetic and that's why America has no chance.
He probably likes the security of having the money, but probably just enjoys doing the things that most ordinary older people do. Just enjoying the quiet fine things in the world.
Buffet - “Not everyone has the same opportunities” Interview- “Because you’re a man?” Buffet - “& because I’m white, if I had been black, my future would have entirely different” I’m so glad he acknowledges that it’s a lot harder to build exceptional wealth as a black person or person of colour. We face inequality, prejudice, and in general the woes of a systemically racist America. I’m not saying it’s impossible to be rich, but to be Warren Buffet type rich, we face a lot more roadblocks because of the colour of our skin. It’s honestly made me love Buffet even more to know that he is not in denial about white privilege. He is a very smart and open man 💕
The reason today why the avg African American can’t ascend in the socioeconomic hierarchy isn’t because they’re oppressed, but because they’re unintelligent relative to other ethnic groups, caused by their genetics
because he doesn't WANT to be president. Same with guys like Bill Gates.. P.S. I would certainly *NOT* take Jeff Bezos as president... Jeff Bezos is in the process of trying to form a monopoly on nearly all consumer services in America by expanding Amazon into every type of market possible. Jeff Bezos wants Amazon(aka *HIMSELF*) to provide everything for everyone, and he is putting thousands of people out of business by striving for complete economic control. He is the one person in the world that I am scared of. I legitimately feel like he is aiming for world domination, one nation under Jeff Bezos. All the interviews I've seen of him he seems like a very nice guy, but he is a totally ruthless businessman and is completely obsessed with expansion. He is the very definition of corporate greed, which is ironic because the same people who trash Donald Trump(i'm not a fan of Trump) see Bezos as some kind of hero, despite the fact that Jeff Bezos is Donald Trump on steroids...
