If any drummer deserves a rising platform back-flipping rolling-over jumping the shark engulfed in flames drum solo during a live metal show by any band... It's JUNNA!!!
Junna! Junna! Junna! I could watch her play all day. I love how much she gets into it! I agree with you about the way she plays too. It is that much more exciting. I was pleasantly surprised when the concert footage showed. I know she does a few those one man lives along with her freelance work. I would love to see her play live one day! Great reaction as always!
The people that say Junna is moving too much are the same kind of people that say that keyboard players can't rock behind the station. Simply put failed drummers and keyboard players, they tried and failed and now they are bitter because someone else can do it better than them. 🤣😂 Jealousy is a awful thing.
To be honest, I really can't find a place to start in talking about how good Junna is. Maybe the fact she connects so personally with the song allows her to use her skills to the max. She's pushing it to the max. She's goes at it like a completely wild woman. Right now I'm totally stunned.
I agree it's cool whenever they add a bunch of their own stuff to covers, but I don't forget that sounding like yourself isn't as hard as sounding like someone else.
The people that say energetic drummers like Junna are doing too much can go watch drum machine demos. She's having fun, she's precise, and she sounds good. Most of all, she draws in non-drummers with her playing, something that not a lot of drummers can do on their own. It's funny that you mention Liliac because when Abigail puts out thirty second videos of her drumming and smiling at the camera and shaking her hair, there are always people on social media saying she's showing off too much, she's not taking drumming seriously, etc. and if these people have profile pictures, it's always the old metal dudes trying to hate on the ladies.
JUNNA will be filling in for Marty's Friedman's band in Japan for a little while. So that gives you some indication where she ranks here. I was hoping she might fill in for Babymetal at some point. Which actually isn't as crazy as it sounds. She already did a cover of Doki Doki Morning in full Battle Armor yet lol. So there is that, secret audition maybe? 🤔 Secondly Marty already has a Kami Band member playing In his Japanese band with Takayoshi Ohmura! 🙀💕 So she would already have a connection there. Lastly her own band Trident's Advance she left awhile ago & is freelancing now. JUNNA is a beast though with supernatural powers!! Great reaction here BTW!! 🤘🦊💕
First things first for those that don’t like her “flair”, she has EVERY RIGHT to show it if she so chooses. What I see is a woman that absolutely loves playing drums and her excitement and enthusiasm while playing is both therapeutic and mesmerizing. We’d all be lucky to find that one vice that brings out what drumming does for her.
As a drummer in my 50s and I've been playing for years I wish I had half the energy junna has I've watched other drummers do covers to this same song in my opinion she's the best my favorite drummer is the late great NEIL PEART junna is quickly becoming my second favorite drummer next to NEIL 🙏 RIP NEIL
I can talk about junna all day on how well she's plays like I said next to Neil PEART she's my second favorite drummer player and I still talk about how great a drummer Neil PEART all day RIP NEIL
She's a great drummer. I enjoy all her performances solo and with Trident the power metal trio where she is also a member. Lovebites also does a great cover which is another one of my favorite groups. Babymetal and Rob Halford played Painkiller/Breaking The Law a few years back live which is also great. Su-metal is another one of my favorite vocalists.
She can play anything. This new drum professor will inspire the old and new generation in the coming years. Kids are amazing to watch. They can play better then adults. Junna is not only playing to the song. She's leading it, she's inviting painkiller to follow her into that magic world she's obviously from. Junna Is holding a sword and shield which I can see through her style while she raises her sticks junna is protecting the song by her drums from a battle against fighting mistakes and missed notes and she's won. Mistakes gone, missed notes conquered!... I want to see her play Rush and actually perform neil pearts drum solos alone instead of a song first.. then let's see if the actual drum professor has a mentor!!
Junna always turns it up to 11. As another example of how she makes a song her own, here is her version of Ruma featuring Riinu Kun: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8Cy5qrYx8uc.html Here is the original with what sounds like a drum machine: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cudfi9AHkeU.html The difference is amazing. Given her many years creating her drum parts for Girls Rockband Kakumei I am not surprised at her ability to move beyond the original drum parts in her drum covers.
Like you said brother, who the hell cares how she plays… she KILLS it! The people that gripe about more than likely don’t possess half her talent or any of her talent. \m/\m/
YES! That made my day. I completely agree. Why not go for it and ham it up. I'd rather not watch a robotic, note for note cover. I like seeing people put their own flair/style. You can program a drum machine to do the same thing, but that's just boring.
I agree 100%! I always told every band that's was in, not to expect me to be a trained monkey behind the kit because it wasn't happening. I've always found it a huge let down and disappointment when I would see live bands that hardly moved. I looked at it like this, if you don't look like you are into your music then how in the hell can you expect anyone else to be into it?! I'd rather spend the money it costs for the cover charge and gas to get to the show on the bands CD and stay home with a case of beer. That way I'm not bored as hell watching zombies on stage, and i save money and don't have to worry about a DUI.
She does a few live shows every year in Tokyo and a couple other venues in Japan, those are an excerpt from one I am sure, it is enough to pay for the bills I am guessing. She knows people go to live shows or watch her for just that, to see a show along with great skills. Otherwise one could just stay home and listen to studio recordings.
Greeting Metal,Mr Bob..! Wow,amazing n cool..! She's Japanese, isn't she?She plays so cool n really accurate drumming even though it's pretty thight n fast in this song. But she plays so perfect..wow..!It's really rare for the girl to play drums in metal genre..almost equal to John Patridge.. It's crazy.man...wow..! ...this is a painkiller...aaagghhh....!!!!
I have had the priveliege of knowing Scott Travis for many years. He is a very hard working musician and will do things like play drums in a local band to keep his edge going. Years go, I think it was Modern Drummer, one of the drum mags, about twenty years or so ago considered Scott Travis the best drummer in the world. After seeing him play, I would not disagree with it. They said that Scott is the Drummer's Drummer. There is no difference in coordination between his left or right hand, can play any groove, any time signature, and more importantly, has the ability to play in a bad and sound good. One day about thirty or so years ago, I was with Scott at a drum competition where he was one of the judges. He was telling me about how good some of the drummers in the contest were, but would never get past being a garage drummer. He said that they could play virtually anything except with a band and he was right. But some people are satisfied with just playing drums. Anyway, coming to Junna, she is very talented. Probably one of the most energetic drummers on the planet. We know that she is very intense and can use her talents to play with bands. I have seen her play for a number of years, but I do not know what her full range of drum skills are. Senri is probably the most versitile drummer on the planet where she plays in different time signatures flawlessly with poise, accuracy and the ability to drive the beat. She has been out there for many years. Kind of funny when she was into rock and metal and then migrated to jazz and fusion. Soma has played a few jazz pieces but, pretty much, sticks to a quarter note beat. She is very intense with her music talents. She is definitely one of the premier female Japanese drummer. Senri Kawaguchi having the ultimate skill set followed by Yoyoka Soma, then Junna. Yes, there are a plie of female Japanese drummer you could put on a list. Two of these Japanese female drummers are on the top 500 drummer list in the world. Junna could be, Miki Tsunoda should have been put on the list before Senri Kawaguchi was even born. I just listed these three names of female Japanese drummers making the biggest impact on drumming in Japan. One thing is for sure, none of these highly skilled Japanese drummers have gotten the recognition or acceptance they deserve.
@@JustAnotherReactor I think of all the videos of Senri, these are the ones which really showcase her talents. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ST7oSkJIOBM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gkTUlx1Kgv0.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OkphillzYIs.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NvDsi-gohDo.html
You forgot Haruna (Lovebites). Her rendiction of this song (cover by Lovebites), in particular drums & guitar, is better also Scott Travis and Judas Priest. More fast e more rounded!
You're right people complain about her doing too much when she's playing is just hatin because they can't play that good I'm a drummer I'm all for it if she adds her own flair to her drummer covers if you got it flaunt it
Go back in time...... buddy rich??? Good musicians express themselves... thanks bud 👍👍👍🤟 JUNNA.... the love child of AKANE and HARUNA. 🤟🤟🔥🔥🔥🐺🦧🍌🙏 THANKS!!
If anyone has a problem with how she express herself they are just sad people nothing better than seeing musicians getting into the music plus it shows she is just on another level jealousy is an ugly thing;)
If you like to watch other japanese kids who play on a high level: - れん (7): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U5YFUywMjdA.html (Rainbow, Kill the King) - YUA (11): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_4wO6cvcjWo.html (Babymetal, Megitsune) And, not a kid, but completely underrated: - Dainashi: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5ZBK4bm8Fj0.html (DragonForce, Through the Fire and Flames, 1.2 speed)
Bobby, you release a new video when you can. We understand. We all got a job beside this. Dont worry! I have question to Bobby and you all. I imagine it's harder to do a "slow" kick drum pattern than a fast? You have to be more exact to not flame, if you do understand what i mean? Am a newbie behind the drum set so let me know your ideas.
I'm not a drummer, but ut I would imagine it just takes lots of practice to keep steady feet at a slower pace. Use a metronome. Might be boring not to play as fast as you can, but I'm sure it would build consistently.
@Lost Again. You're right. In my experience I usually had a little more difficulty with the slower double bass drum beats than the faster ones. They're easy to play but a little difficult to play smoothly. That was just my experience.
Anyone talking any noise about Junna, is probably just jealous. "They hate us, Cruz they anus". Reminds me of the scene in Major League. It's not a home run, it's too high.
I think her movement is a good thing. She looks like she is having fun. As opposed to the stuck up bored looking musicians whom are boring to watch. She is fun to watch. Other musicians have a lot to learn about showmanship. That's my opinion anyway. If you are putting on a show then put on a show.
The impressive part is: If you only hear the audio you'd think it was a studio drummer concentrating very hard and using minimal motion. Showing off is SHIT if it affects the groove...and it does affect the groove for most.
I can't stand it when musicians don't move! If you don't act like you are into or even like your own music, don't expect anyone else to be either. I can sit at home and stare at the wall while blaring their music instead of watching statues onstage.
Senri and Junna are two very different beasts. Senri is considered one of the best drummers in the world, maybe even over time. She has a very broad field of different music recorded in very prestigious contexts with world renown musicians. She plays mainly progressive jazz, but can play almost anything. She is also very correct and nice, minimal movements when playing. Junna, on the other hand is a beast of playing hard, fast and precise rock, and has great showmanship. Two so different types that comparing is meaningless. But, when it comes to being an accepted drummer of world class, Senri is miles above Junna. Which might not say anything about skills.
This show off talk is ridiculous. Why would you want to watch a drummer with no expression like a robot If you are providing the rhythm for a band that is different. She is solo drumming.
@@JustAnotherReactor - You should look att Yoyoka playing "Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines". 50% of the beats cowbell! Almost. Not only for the cowbells. It is good also.
Just a tip. I never like or subscribe to people who beg for likes and subscriptions If you’re channel is any good people will do it automatically. Begging for cash is particularly unedifying.
@@XXXCRSPL First of all You’ve right. I’m not an expert. I’ve also zero interest in becoming a RU-vidr myself. Why don’t we just let the stats do the talking? The beggar has under 7k subscribers. The talent, Junna, who’s talent he’s making money off the back of has 177k subscribers. One of her videos has had over a million views and she doesn’t even speak. I rest my case. Please don’t bother to reply. I’ve also zero interest in conversing with retards.
rarely do either, most of them do not really entertain me. but this guy from what I have seen so far is worth a sub and like. I see your point though, far to many mediocre channels who beg for likes and subs and it rubs people the wrong way and they start thinking anyone who asks for likes and subs is just begging.
It's not just pounding as you suggest have you played any drums lately..but fumiya from unlucky morpheus is above these drummers..he is my pick in this drum contest
