That took me back to July 1972. The night I first publicly professed Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I was in the front row of the balcony of Duke Street Baptist Church in Richmond, UK. This was the final hymn, and the Pastor Rev. John Bird asked anyone who wanted to accept or profess Jesus as Lord to come to the front. I don't know how I got there, but I wept as I sang words I had never heard before.

Always think of Billy Graham when I hear this hymn, a mainstay of his services around the world. Beautiful rendition with so much feeling and reverence. Gert, thank you yet again.

Edgar Torbert, me too. George Beverly Shea sang it so richly, too. I went to one of Billy Graham's crusades at the Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California when I was a teenager.

@@elizabethdent1984 Same experience in Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1970. Billy Graham used T.S. Eliot's image of "Christ the tiger" in his sermon the night I attended; with that, startled and seized the attention the crowd more accustomed to hearing of the "Lamb of God" in a way I will never forget. George Beverly Shea and Ethel Waters sang with incredible power. What memories from over 50 years ago!

Thank you, Gert, for such a beautiful improvisation of a wonderful invitation hymn I heard many times in my younger years in the Nazarene churches, when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior!! Nowadays, Jan Post plays circles around Gert - who plays everything like a student exercise. 8 or 9 years ago, I thought Gert would continue to develop. Sadly, he seems to have lost his enthusiasm.
