On the boxing channels keep up the vids be good to see you tour and update of yours
Make it look so easy, love watching . Carpentry and joinery is my game but bricklaying interests me. I would love to be able to learn. Great video Dean
Brilliant as always mate, I only get to see You in here, I don’t have instagram or anything. Hopefully you’ll put some more content out soon, keep up the excellent work buddy..
I’m 34 bricklayer for 17 years from wales and moved to Australia over 10 years ago, absolutely love laying bricks but the passion and love from others is ruining the game, I had to leave the tree about 3 months ago due to money fluctuating too much, I became a construction supervisor and now I’m running 40 houses but they will be built with the love and passion I was taught as a whopper snapper, miss laying everyday but was time for me to progress
Whether we like it or not , bricklaying has changed. In the modern world we no longer build walls 1,2 or even 3 bricks thick. We now clad buildings in a coat that is one half brick thick. We use steel or concrete to span opes and as a result we rarely have the chance to showcase the full range of our bonding and cutting skills. However, watching you reminds me that the same principles apply to the traditional and the modern and I hope you keep putting out your great videos. Keep up the good work.
The labourers have to up there game because of profiles, where before you’d build up 2 big corners and give the lab time to get ahead, with the profiles your on the money straight away,to be honest labs don’t have to mix nearly anymore,my shoulder is fucked from doing it,English style of work is a lot easier on the body than in Ireland
Personally as a older bricklayer i would have a profile each corner guage marked on it and a line pulled straight through for speed, accuracy and alignment, eyeballs only get you so far 👍
@@thetraditionalbricklayer9650skilled me bollicks any bricklayer would pull a line from one corner to the other for alignment, I can build corners as quick freehand as any trowel and plumb and level and to gauge but it's quicker and more accurate to use profiles
Good to get you back mucka, been following you for yonks, you're a younger me, I'm 74, still doing a bit when my son gets bogged down (them concrete blocks are a killer now) but laying bricks with no pressure is good for the soul. Stay with it.
How are you mate Yeah thing is with this platform it brings u in touch with the new generation and I read some of the comments and think Jesus Christ 😂
Single plinths you often stick 3/4s on the corners below the plinth for the perps to all line up.I do actually prefer what you have done.Full bricks on the corners.Nice work
Not long lost a proper old school bricklayer he was the best don’t get many like it now days I been working since I was 12 and iv always looked up to you old school brickys currently 19 and doing good
Loved the video!! What is the oldest age you could become a bricklayer considering what you hear of the shortage of bricklayers currently according to most?? Thanks and keep up the good work
They still used profiles on victorian houses. Im a traditionalist myself 34 years in the game. If your on price and can get up early and finish at 330 mixer cleaned and tools in van. Why the fuck not. My grand built corners. But im still learning from the youth of today. A message gained is a lesson learnt. Tararsing or chillin with good. Gang gang. 😮
Your spot on about the standard on big sites its embarrassing and spot about profles never though about it before because when i started it was standard but what your saying is spot big love❤
Great work! Iv been a Plasterer for 30 years and that’s dying now, they can barely skim on a bit of board now and have to spray their render and can’t screed a floor or make a cornice! It’s nice to see the old school in the trades. I’m off work ill at the moment but once the surgeon’s have fixed me I’d love to get on the brick trowel, maybe even get a little bit good by the time I retire. Keep up the good work lads. 💪🏻👊🏻
I'm not a bricklayer just love watching your video and others of same trades, was wondering do you use or not guidelines to show placements? Wicked work m8👍🙏
The ground works site manager should have made the work area safe for you to carry out your brickwork safely. The pit falls cavities. You shouldn't have to straddle the wall to stabilise yourself.
Christ almighty if that’s true that’s a real bummer, it looks like Dean has put a lot of soul into that house. Strange he might be in financial difficulties though as I remember him saying awhile back that he has a “ property portfolio “ abroad 🤷♂️
How powerful is your trowel lol 😆 the fact you can cut a full brick in half and get a near perfect if not perfectly cut half brick is just impressive and it seems like you dont even need a spirit level, top notch skilled tradesmen 🎉 🧱
