I have ATS100 and take it with anywhere with me along with a long wire. Works fine,for the money. I did not know about this model. I like the screen on this one. Thanks for the video
Thanks for the demonstration. I have an ATS120 on order. I compared with the Malachite clones and the Belka. The ATS120 appears to be more user-friendly without making too much compromise on the reception. The lack of the “chuffing” noise caused by muting while scrolling the frequency in SSB is welcome. On radios who mute, that also often unsettles the RF AGC so it really slows down how fast you can tune due to waiting for the AGC to recover.
Yes, that AGC recovery makes fast tuning useless. That's 100% true. That's why is muting every 1kHz so annoying 🤨. Great that ATS120 solved this finally! 👌
I wonder how much if the noise is coming from the display and how much is coming from the ESP32 CPU? A neat firmware upgrade would be to map a long press of one of the function buttons to toggle the display off snd on once the radio is set and tuned as desired… if it is the display generating the noise.
