IDK, $40 is still cheaper than $120. It's a perfectly serviceable giftset with all-ages fidget figures that was never trying to be Hasbro's direct answer and competitor to 16+ Newage, lol.
Yeah. The Transformers fandom seriously needs to stop comparing the contemporary figures to the 3rd party stuff. Even if the 3rd party stuff is technically 'better', one: it's unsanctioned and legally wonky, and two: they tend to be very expensive compared to the Hasbro offerings. And in this economy, I will definitely take the cheaper figures, especially since Legacy and WFC Trilogy have crushed it so far. Like that Armada Prime is amazing.
I mean sure the newage ones are gonna be better, but they are also $50+ per toy. I think for the price this has in comparison to those newage prices this isn't that bad
Hopefully NewAge gives us Maximal and Predacon characters someday in the future since as someone that enjoyed both Rise of The Beasts and The Last Knight/Age of Exinction in truth, I started to find the Maximals and Dinobots while also Predacons and Insecticons too alot more cooler than the Bots and Cons now in my unpopular opinion lol.
@@baltmatrixi don’t think “i saw some figures people don’t want for an unbelievable price at sites i won’t list” is a justification for saying to buy the 50 dollar+ individual collectors pieces over the 30 retail playset.
I do think $40 is high for this set, but the newage comparison isn't really fair since mainline Core class is going for a wildly different thing than 3p legends. This is a cute set though, and if I wasn't already knee deep in 3p legends it might even be my Optimus and Bee of choice
The little back plate on Bee, I believe, is supposed to be collapsed into his back in robot mode, and he should have a second grey gun that fits under his vehicle mode more cleanly.
You're right. That panel is supposed to fold up in to the back. But it still doesn't look great. And I thought there was going to be another gun as well but there isn't.
I got it because 1) I really don't feel like spending $100+ USD on extremely small figures. 2) I like the fact its a very tiny prime with a small trailer. 3) I dont necessarily care about articulation/accuracy. These are mostly desk toys to fiddle with on my end and I think they serve their purpose. I have issues with one of the blasters seemingly being too large for the hand ports so might need to sandpaper it down, and Bee's rear wheels don't exactly line up, but its fine. Is it amazing? No. But they're fun for me, and a bit more afforable than the deluxe/voyager versions.
I already have the Optimus and Bumblebee molds and the trailer is fine I guess. But that little Roller, I'm probably going to get it for that. The cyber cuteness!
Just get the Newage is certainly A Take when this is $40 but Newage Herbie is half of a $90 set and David is $100-120 on his own. $40 Vs $190? I mean yeah I’d hope the 3P version is better
Really, core class figures that go for $7-11 vs new age $45-299? Yeah new age look good but I don't think they are worth 4x more the price of core class. I have seen when some of them go on sale for $24 which I think that should their standard price instead of $45 and up.
Is it wrong that I like this trailer and accessories better than Earthrise? I think this would be a nice set for a little kid just getting into Transformers.
I mean, I'd probably only get Newage or Dr. Wu figures for the Dinobots or if Dr. Wu has any and if they both also make Beast Wars characters atleast lol.
You forgot to plug the hips into the underside of Prime's grill when transforming him. There's a triangular peg and slot that do fit together if you line it up correctly. The rear panel on Bumblebee's backpack is actually supposed to fold in when you collapse the torso together. if you line it up right, it should snap together properly. The black sidearm is actually Prime's. there should have been a smaller grey gun included that plugs into Bumblebee's undercarriage in vehicle mode.
There's something wrong with the mold/plastic that prevents the grill from folding up properly to peg together correctly unlike with the other redecos of this Prime. My version of this set has the same problem that Balt's did where the grill doesn't properly fold back, nor do the waist and grill arm line up properly to peg together. However, mine did also come with the second, small grey pistol for Bumblebee that Balt didn't show off.
@@Technomagus I understand what you mean, but I wasn't referring to the two small pegs that are supposed to plug into the back; the two white pieces are supposed to slot together and they do actually hold.
@@XenotHedgehog Yes, I understand that. My copy of the figure can't get the white pieces lined up to peg together because the grill piece can't fold all the way back properly, so the sides of the truck front push against the legs and interfere with the triangular peg connection.
@@Technomagus What you want to do is line up the back piece and then shift it down. that should line it up properly that the hips can plug into place. Also, the flap that covers the head in vehicle mode has a slot that lines up with a tab on the back piece. you can use that to help guide it into the right position, even if the tab itself doesn't stay in.
Balt I love ya man but I gotta disagree with this lil connector piece, it add some much needed gray to the figure and I like parts forming. That bumble figure needs some work but it's fine I guess. i would be more upset with the connector bit if it didn't have some like actual grating to it but it adds a nice look to the backside.
got mine warped out of the package too, It really makes you wonder how much QC is really happening, Im not expecting them to treansform every toy but maybe like one and then check if any others have the warped plastic piece inside. I swapped out the part with Nemesis and its not so bad with that being Grey but now Nemesis can never Transform. 😑
Considering how much smaller it is and it is far cheaper plastic and has no matrix and less posibility (finger posibility is like the main mp selling point) it is £40 that is pretty expensive for what is like almost half the cost of mp10 and it is missing like half the paint

I mainly just hate how expensive this set is because is the trailer really worth 30$ I mean we have two cores here each costing about 10$ the paint isn’t super high it’s pretty basic and they’re not new molds not any new accessories I think this is just hasbro trying to get as much money as possible
Yeah. Now, that's fine if you're a big collector, but it's not worth it when it comes to just play value. I'm not going to say one product is better than the other- they go for different markets- but this is clearly going for play value over Accuracy or complication (and honestly, anything legends scale should be as simple as possible, because manipulating anything at that scale can cause breakage).
Hi balt, love your reviews, not sure if its just your prime or all of them but there is model tools that can kind of polish those hinge scars and make them look alot better, id reccomend a balancer(i think thats what its called) its typically used to sand/polish nub marks on model kits, i have a basic tool kit that came with one and it works well enough, idk if itll work on plastic like that it cant hurt :)
I think this set looks pretty decent. Well, Prime and his trailer do. I think the Bee looks like garbage. My main issue is the price. 40 bucks plus shipping for these? No thanks. I'm not going to compare these to Newage because they're just in different leagues. But I'm getting tired of the constant price hikes from Hasbro and the constant drop in quality.
That Bumblebee looks kinda like they overcomplicated the already mildly iffy Titans Return figure tbh. Not sure since I don't have the new one for a direct comparison but the engineering looked like it overlapped more than I would have expected.
In my case, you can get the New Age figures or you can get the HotSoldiers Figures, I already have Bumblebee I just need Optimus Prime to add to my collection, also, Gundam Markers or something that is a lot closure to the color should fix up the white on the hinges

Theres a better bumblebee that is similar because the legs are exactky the same transformation wise and it doesnt have that back kibble but my only gripe is the clear plastic windows. I think its a legends scale from the power of the primes but i bought it from ebay as my first bumblebee when i started collecting 3 and half yrs ago. Hes one of my favourite bees but did not come with a weapon so the dpare from inside optimus trailer will be going straight to him lol
They are perfectly servicable tho. Cool fidget toy and it's a good alternative if you want a Bumblebee and a Prime in core class but you missed the old releases but the price God damn
