Kinda depends where you live to know what someone considers up north. My customers in Texas always call me their buddy up north that lives in an igloo and collects maple syrup for a living. For some reason they think I have to climb the trees to get it(haven't quite figured that one out yet. Oh and I live in Vancouver Canada
The waste gate on that sled is amazingly loud! That’s so awesome! That’s a testament to the sheer pounds of boost being funneled into those engine cylinders at a moments notice off throttle the injected air being released out the gate is so fun listening to... on a sled! Yamaha power, baby!
The sound your hearing from the waste gate isn't "injected air" being released, it's excessive exhaust gas being dumped because the compressor doesn't need it ( he's off the throttle ) ..
Matthe PA you are absolutely correct! I must have wrote that wrong, but what you said is exactly what I meant. I was saying the turbo injects massive air pressure and off the throttle the gate opens. I’ll need to re-read what I wrote, but regardless, you are spot on!
The terrain is awesome here. Come on down. Also Thanks for getting me all the parts for the RC sleds. We are working on them. We got them all stripped down and are starting the build process now. Can't wait to take them out this year.
Turbo has been awesome. Flawless over 1300 miles last year. I did just do a new top end and new reeds at the end of the season so we will see how she runs next year. It was virtually maintenance free during the season.
I wonder how long those turbo last with them surging that hard. I think it's funny when people think it's the blow off valve or auxiliary relief valve but when in reality it's the turbo surging.
@@yamadoo04snow maybe see if you can put a better blow off valve in it or another one... I run 2 in my street car. I went through 2 turbos and the turbo that's in it right now has been in it for 9 years. I rebuilt it 2 months ago it had a little bit of thrust wear (in and out) but the main goal of me rebuilding it was to put a Billet compressor wheel in it.
Not sure yet. Its hard to find time to edit with work and a family to take care of as well. Check out my facebook or instagram for short clips as well. Yamadoo04 is the username for each of them.
I am by no means a greenie (so this isn't my drift at all), and it looks so fun!!!...but...how do you stand listening to that terrible whiny engine noise? This is one vehicle that it would be nice to see with an electric motor...so you can enjoy the pristineness of the wintry landscape!
To each their own right. I personally love the sound of the motor. Some people like the sounds a crying baby. I do not. I am all for Electric motors when they can get them to the point that can last a full day of riding and not strand you out in the woods. You can carry extra gas pretty easy. Or go get more if you run out. When they can get extra batteries to carry i think its a great idea. Kinda hard to recharge out in the mountains when there is no electricity around for miles.
@@yamadoo04snow daaaammmmnnnnn yes I kind had the same issue. Mines on the lower strut of my high handle bars. So still in a good slapping location. But not one that I'm gonna hit on accident haha
yamadoo04 put a small zip tie under the kill switch so you can just slightly push down to kill the motor without it fully collapsing down to kill it. You already have a kill switch tether and a key.
@@yamadoo04snow Lol thats awesome, Im assuming you flip and roll your sled lots judging from the epic video and the depth of the snow how does the box stand up? Im on home depot right now is that the deep looking 22 inch one for 69 bucks?
