The fact that he speaks 4 of the most difficult languages just shows how blessed his brain is. I mean he's from Macau so he probably acquired these languages at a young age since the majority in Macau speaks Chinese and English. He's not a native English speaker but I'm sure he's fluent in English. He's probably not confident cause he got that strong Asian accent. But damn nct members are blessed in language learning. 💕
A tip is to keep trying. speak ur rap first then speak it a bit faster. keep doing that until ur at the pace of the rap. Im actually not a native speaker (i just lived in australia and the uk for part of my life while learning english (i only say this bc i have an accent)) but i use this tip for my band.
@@MinjaeisaSin Correct practice that is. 😊 I used to mimic Eminem though, I mean, who didn't as a kid? 😅 I can say there wasn't much difference from day 1 to day 300. 🤣
It probably comes from practicing with Yangyang. I noticed his English was pronounced clearly & with an American accent. Now that he's learning more his accent has changed & sounds more like Yangyang's.
he’s from macau, which was under portuguese rule until 1999 (i believe, but it might be 1997) so most likely there is still that hint of a portuguese accent in his english!
Yeah its Becuase in macu they teach english from a really young age, They also teach portuguese since hes from portugese macun but i dont think henderey knows alot.
im just amazed that how he tries his best and he really shows effort. Literally english grammar rules are hard for me as well my native language and english doesnt have any kind of similarity in grammar or adjectives. Mandarin is like that as well. Basic example the letter system. im happy that he never gives up on languages. he is a huge inspo
Makes me want to learn many more languages tbh im trying to learn Korean but finding it sooo hard so for him to do more than two lanaguages at a time is amazing!
@@rose.coupsie mark is from canada Johnny is from chicago Jaehyun lived in america for four years Ten, yangyang, xiaojun and hendery learned at school (i guess?) if you forgot some im sorry im a goldfish im not good at remembering 💓
For real I have so much respect for idols who rap in languages that aren't their native language. That's a very hard thing to do because you're usually speaking faster than usual and there can be a lot of wordplay involved.
I love how he says “I don’t care if my grammar is wrong” and then ends up speaking for 4 straight minutes with barely any mistakes. I think his english is pretty good and his confidence makes it sound much better and more natural and that is super important... yes vocabulary and grammar are essential but i think his english is natural, he doesn’t seem to overthink or pick his words, they just flow naturally and that’s really attractive and impressive.
Omg I didn't expect him to be this good! He is definitely among the best English speakers that I've heard so far in NCT Universe; not counting the native speakers (Mark, Johnny, and Jaehyun who is not a native speaker but fluent). Ten and Yangyang are definitely up there too ofc. But even tho Hendery is not too fluent, he is super skilled I would say. He tries to watch his grammar and pronounciation and he makes almost no mistakes I'm super impressed lol. Reminded once again why my bias is this guy dang 💖
imo ten is prob more fluent then jaehyun. it’s just that jaehyun has an american accent while ten has a slight thai accent. ten has most likely spoke english longer than jaehyun since he grew up going to an international school. plus ten has said that he is most comfortable speaking in english, while jaehyun is probably most comfortable speaking in korean.
he's so sweet and good at english!! he tends to underappreciate his skills, imo. he's really good and communicates really well, i find his accent to be very pleasant!!
The way I come back to watch this every day 😭 I'm an ESL (english) educator and I know how much time and effort gets put into this level of english fluency. He expresses himself well and is willing to learn/practice like in this ig live. You can see all his efforts. HELP I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
when you live in asia it's common thing to said that Konglish, Chinglish, Singlish LOL. such as skinship, some etc you will not find that words in English speaking countries.
Hendery is from Macau. Both Macau and Hong kong their public school system teach English as second language. But because Lucas and Hendery left their home at such a young age so their haven't perfected English. In Hong Kong by the time you graduate HK colleges, you can speak pretty well English. Lucas left HK when he was in 2nd year in high school, so his English is not good and so is Hendery. They went to south korea to learn korean. I guess now Hendery is picking up a book again to learn English. Lucas should do the same cause both of them already have some foundation in English. If you listen to Hendery and Lucas, both of their pronunciation in English is not bad.
I'm honestly really impressed by how good he is. Like his grammer is almost perfect. Didn't expect him to be this good, considering he isn't a native English speaker. So proud of him and he has Improved so much ❤
i love his english! i assume the more european accent comes from macau (where’s hes from) being a portuguese territory and still having those influences now.
His English doesn't have any twang of a Chinese language speaker. Kinda neutral and even close to how us South East Asians sound. Good job Hendery. You are already conversational. 👍
I love hendery so much ahhh ❤❤❤ he's so good at english ahhh he tried his best I love that a hes considerate and always trying. Favorite is senior sehun but hendery is 2nd
His English is so good here I thought he was European. Originally I thought he was raised somewhere in Europe like Yangyang but I feel like Hen's English is regressing somewhat. It happens when you don't use it enough or you're around other people a lot; you start speaking like them. The same thing started happening with Ten, I feel. I saw a recent Live Ten did where he said his managers told him to work on his annunciation/pronouncing of words.
same, I thought so too that he was somewhere from Europe like his english is quite fluent and it sounds natural too if you dont pay much attention to the hesitation in his tone..
2:49 so this was a hint that he was learning Korean for NCT 2020 Like I mean I knew they were learning it Like he verbalised that he was learning English and Korean
He was one of those sm secret trainees. He joined the same year with chenle and lucas but he was not officially announced until 2018 new SM rookies. He already studies korean language and excel more than lucas.
